That's a weird one. I've seen Firefox hang on to cookies like grim death but never IE. Have you tried a Ctrl+F5? Are you behind a gateway that's caching things?

I hit Ctrl+F5 but it didn't help. It could be a gateway, I really don't know. I work in a huge financial firm where network security is as tight as a frog's butt. God only knows what crazy things they put between my machine and your server.

Hello,
I was wondering if someone else have the same problem with the index.asp page, since it didn't fit in 1024*768 (my monitor's resolution). Can this be fixed? Thanks in advance. Good job, by the way ...

In the newsletter, the new look was announced. I'd like to report some bugs about the web site design:
1) The dropdown menu used for Code Project pages, loads with some fault some of the times, when viewed in Firefox. Here is a link to how it look like:

As you can see, there are to "H"s for the Help menu item (one is hidden behind the other one.) This should be fixed.
2) Almost all pages of Code Project use more than 100% window width, thus make a horizontal scrollbar to appear, at least in Firefox. Usually --but not always--, the extra "H" appears in these pages as well.
3) In the home page, the right top box, where the forum new posts are listed, moving mouse over the links make a tooltip appear, containg some text like:
"Posted by code-frog at 7/11/2006 12:54:00 AM"
Now, when you hover your mouse over the link to this forum post:
http://www.codeproject.com/lounge.asp?msg=1570516#xx1570516xx
What you see in the tooltip is:
Posted by <b><i><font color="#ca0000">Sarath.</font></i><fon at 7/11/2006 2:02:00 AM
Actually, only the first 20 or so characters are shown, as you see in the following image:

Which should also be fixed. (Even if people are allowed to use HTML in their nicknames, the code should remove HTML from what tooltip is going to show, as the tooltip will not comply with HTML.)

I have to say congrats on your new design change, although it will take some time to get used to the changes.
Two Bugs:
-All of the CP forums are not linked in the dropdown menu (example: Java Forum)
-The news articles on the main CP site are about a week old. Although I haven't had a problem getting the email version.

This is as it has always been. Java has been deprecated

Yes i got it three times as well but i use gmail so it doesn't bother me as much.

Yep, that sure is one handy feature hiding the "quoted" text 
Formula 1 - Short for "F1 Racing" - named after the standard "help" key in Windows, it's a sport where participants desperately search through software help files trying to find actual documentation. It's tedious and somewhat cruel, most matches ending in a draw as no participant is able to find anything helpful. - Shog9

After a few clicks on different things, "Help!" menu becomes "H Help!".

The new CP design looks refreshing. The page area is more forum oriented and more .NET style compliant. The right-hand side panels are good as well. The only thing I may point my finger at is the sharp contrast between the green and orange used. The both colors are a bit too saturated.

One used to be able to tell immediately which "tab" of the home page was active, but since the nifty green buttons don't maintain state, you now have to scroll down a ways (last 10 Updates box) before you can see the Category:C#, etc. in the box label. Be nice if the Category was displayed somwhere in the 1st 4 main boxes...

The old tabs have been moved to the Green BarTM. I'll make the Chosen One a little more obvious.

It seems that article summaries are no longer displayed as tooltips in the "Last 10 updates" table. IIRC, they used to be there.

Clicking on links in the Question Time area on the left takes you to the forum list, not the question you clicked on. They do work, however, if the question was posted to an article's message board.

With the new layout, the Last 10 Updates box is now so far down. Surely that's one of the first things that should be on the home page?

The Last 10 is where it's always been. It's always been a debate as to what's more important - the latest articles or the latest popular articles. My feeling has always been that the popular ones would be of more interest but I'm open to debate.
