I'd like to fix size of my webpage that my users can't be able to change the size of page in their browser.

Smilies are just like exclamation marks. If you use them too much, they become totally meaningless.

You can only limit the size of a window if you use window.open to open it.

U mean in .NET we don't have any feature to fix size of our webpage when we are designing it?

That has nothing to do with .NET. The browser won't let you take control over the size of the main browser window. If you want a window with a specific size, you have to open a new window.

You can't disable back button.But you can restrict the back button functionality

// go forward
window.history.forward();

while pressing back it will automatically forwards once.So the same page retains.

while the history.forward() method lets you access the next URL in the history list (equivalent to hitting the browser's "Forward" button).

Hi,

I am creating one survey page. where user are given a list of option. there are five options for each question. user need to select not more than 2 checkboxes out of 5 options. i am just wondering what would be the simplest way to achieve this.

* You could create some sort of custom validator. (This would probably be the most correct way of doing it)

* You could create some javascript to prevent more than 2 selections - but remember to check also on the server side in case the user has javascript turned off.

* You could just check on the server side when the page is posted back.

Hi I tried to follow one of the article from 4guysfromrolla. i created a DLL file based upon thier article and copied into my project in the bin directory and did exactly as they said but i got following error.

It can't find an assembly called validate.dll. I presume the article explains what this is or how to create it - The DLL will most likely contain the code that defines the custom validator (I don't have time to read the article)

hi to all,

I have a grid view (ASP.NET 2.0) that displays a list of products, when i click the delete image the row is deleted, then in the RowDeleted handler i attempt to delete the products images folder.

and i get a message say the directory is locked by another process. I assume the process is the browser, but i dont see why if the row is deleted.

How do i get around this problem, so I dont have unwanted fs directories laying about.

this is my code

I don't think it's the browser, but you can use the SysInternals tools[^] to check which application/process is holding the directory.
