There's nothing stopping you from using RegisterClassEx(). MFC also has AfxRegisterClass() and AfxRegisterWndClass()

tel me one thing as i am new to vc++
so i face a problem of how can an edit box is disabled from other form which has menu and i want to click on menu that is popup and has one option that is delete when i click on delete it will display next dialog box and then also make some edit control disabled which are on that dialog box
plz anybody help me in this regard
as i try some but not find success
NOTE: plz give in detail as i know only connecting forks in vc++

for disable control use EnableWindow and whats application type
i answer to like question one hours ago if your program is CDialog use like this
if main class CMyView use this code in another form
CMyView* view = (CMyView* )GetParent();
view->somefunction();
and for set text use SetWindowText

I dont understand view->somefunction(); instead somefunction you can use from your variables or functions in another dialog

OnClick Handller of Menu.. post message to other dialog where you button is Present. in handller of the posted message using EnableWindow disable the Button. api to use PostMessage and EnableWindow!

My application has an multiline edit box and button X. I have called OnButtonX() from OnOK() and i want that button handler to be called when i press enter.
Everything goes well when the control is outside the edit box. When some thing is typed in the editbox and enter is pressed its not callin the button handler and staying in the edit box itself. ( I HAVE NOT CHECKED WANTRETURN)

program to extract data from web sites

Hi,

I have often seen project like "write a program to extract such-and-such data from the given websites"
Sometimes a list of websites are given and the program is supporsed to connect to each of those websites, scan for information automatically and put it in a database.

How can this be done in vc++6?

Any data. For example http://www.fallingrain.com/world/[^].

The site lists country names and the regions under each country. So my program should be able to automatically collect all the country names and put them in an access database.

   There are two ways that I can think of doing it.

   1: Download the raw HTML, run it through a parser and extract information from the cooked data.

   2: Use a hidden browser instance to navigate to a URL and render the data. Use clipboard operations to copy what would be the visible text from the browser and extract information from that data.

   Number 2 is easier, and would be using data that is closer to what an actual user would see when viewing the target site.
