Hi again i wrote this function to update a record in access using ADO but i get an error can anyone find out whats wrong

i know my question is not very clear but if u can see anything that might cause the error pls let me know.
is it because i'm not giving the values for all columns of the record
in the database table i have

Spam number
Ham number
Pos number(with decimal)
app number
i only try to update some values is that correct

For drawing, we are using double buffering. i.e we will create a new DC and draw into it and finally bitblt to the screen.
Why we are not getting the flickering On BitBlt ing the memory DC?
Can we adopt any other method to avoid flickering.

When you are using double buffering method, the drawings are done in the memory DC, which is not seen to us. Then you BitBlt it to the screen DC. The BitBlt is a very fast operation and there is no erasing. Means the content in the memory DC is overwritten to existing screen content. So you will see a full image after the BitBlt.
But if you are drawing directly to the screen, for example, you may have to clear the screen and draw something and then draw something over it, etc. As all these operations are visible to us, we feel it as flickering. But in the case of double buffering, these are done in the memory DC, which is hidden from us, and the final result is shown immediately, replacing the existing one.

Hello SaRath,
Yes, I agree with NS17. When you are doing bitblt your OS (as it is system call) will do mass edit of pixel. But when you do this for every pixel your function is call stack process is do and take some time. While for bitblt all pixel changes injust one call.

I am running my application in msvc6.0 winxp sp2. I am able to compile it successfully but unable to run it. it is giving error
"Failed to initialize properly 0xc0150002" is coming.

First try it in Debug mode and use the debugger. With this message no one can help you

I tried with debugger by keeping breakpoint. but it is not reaching any of the breakpoints in the application. As soon as i hit debugger it is giving the that error message. Is there any latest version of SP that i need to install for msvc to run under winxp sp2?

we are all using MS VC 6.0 with windows Xp Sp2. there is no problem in loading or creating any application.pls check ur code first. if u haven't installed the required service pack for Visual Studio, update with new one.

what is the sp that is to be installed for visual studio I mean we have sp6 installed. Is it not the latest one?

I suppose that this error isn't generated by your application, it's an error from windows loader, the whole executable is damaged. If you can post this file somewhere, maybe I can help.
PS Check your linker options, the problem suppose to be here.

How can I have always displayed selection of an item?
When user clicks in field (inside list control), where there isn't any item, selection is disapearing - how can I prevent this?
In control properties I have "show selection always" set as TRUE.

I create a topmost window using CreateWindowEx() function (use WS_EX_WINDOWLAYERED|WS_EX_TOPMOST).
It is normal, but when my window is upper an window form of an application which use DirectX (such as a game), my window disappear ??? Only the part upper window which use DirectX is disappear, other part is oke. What is this problem ???
