Give the correct process name. Then save the file with extension wsf (Exmaple: EndProc.wsf).

Then go to the command line type the below command where the EndProc.wsf file reside:

EndProc.wsf /computer:[YourComputerName] /name:[YourEndProcessName]

Or you should look at the Kill command[^].

Hi everyone, I need your comment and suggestion. There are three type on automating of windows xp installation. The first one is unattend installation, the second one is disk duplication and the last one is remote installation service (RIS).

I have a question for disk duplication. In the documentation, I will need to have a reference computer and install any application as need and configure its configuration as what I want. Then I have to create an image file in order to deploy to the other computer in order to make your computer have a standard application and software configuration. The document mention that I will need a third party software to do an image file for windows.

From here, I have two question:
1. Can anyone give me a hyperlink of a software that do an image file of the windows?
2. What is the distribution media (CD, DVD or network connection) that will need to transfer an image file and setup on the target machine? because after install windows and install some other application, the size of windows will be increase its size which I suspect that it could not make an image and burn to CDROM.

Outside utilties include: (Note these are Windows utilties
Norton Ghost
Copy Commander 9
Drive Copy

Also there are open source solutions, but many require use of other operating systems. If you want to explore these download a Knoppix or Auditor CD (these are self booting so you do not have to load the OS on a hard drive to create your image).

Enumerate Local Machine Users and Groups

Dose any one have a script that enumerates the local users and groups on a workstation. I need one that can export this data to either an .xml or tab deliminated file. Do not need Active Directory just local users and group memberships.

I could be way off base here, but how do the StartDoc, StartPage, TextOut, etc, calls get resolved to some library that supports PDF output to a file. That's missing from what you have posted so far.

Yes, but how other programs like Word, Textpad etc. can use
this PDFCreator printer driver? Shouldn't there be a standard
way to print it using a printerdriver?

I watched that output.pdf file with editor and it was somekind
of pdf but something was missing...

So, any ideas how should I code that C code snippet?

You should try to find and obtain acrobate SDK in order to develop your application.

In order for your program to use any print driver, it must be selecting that printer and then perform whatever print operations you require.

Also think about using a library such as this one[^].

Also this CodeProject article[^]might be helpful in the context of PDF creation using a print driver.

It's not clear to me whether you are trying to create a PDF using a print driver or whether you wish to create a PDF directly from your own code? Confused | :confused:

Hello,

I'm trying to create pdf file from my own C code using PDFCreator's driver.
I noticed that the result file was POSTSCRIPT not pdf.
When I updated PDFCreator's driver I noticed that it contains also Ghostscript.
So, is that the real problem? When I use my code to create pdf file using PDFCreator
it just uses it's GhostScript part and that's why result is postscript not pdf.
If so, are there any other drivers that can generate pdf files, anyone know?

What I think is happening is that the PDFCreator print driver is working corectly. What is typically done is to print to a POSTSCRIPT printer and have the driver produce a file. The result is exactly as you see, a POSTSCRIPT file and not a PDF file. This file must then be input to Ghostscript which will interprate the POSTSCRIPT and produce a PDF file. If you go through the article I linked in my previous post, it explains and implements exactly that.

Remote desktop connection

Hello,
I just installed a windows 2000 server. I want to be able to access this server using remote desktop connection. I saw on other server that there is a section "terminal services" in control panel, which i don't have. Should i install this from somewhere? is this what i need so that i can use then remote desktop connection?

No, remote desktop connection should always work (although just one user may be connected at a time, remote or local).

You only need Terminal Services if you are using the computer as an Application Server. With TS, you AFAIK might need two licences of each use of the software: one per connection to the server and one for the client that is connecting.

Terminal Services just means that the server is able to provide independent sessions for multiple connected users.
