Hi All,
I have a Application which generates XML file and this XML file will be used to generate Crystal Report. Using wizard, i.e. by right clicking and selecting Add/Remove Database on Database Field we can set Data Source into the Report. Now I want to do the same, i.e. setting Data source through code. Can any body tell me how can achieve the same.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Krishnaraj

Use unicode data types (nvarchar,ntext in SQL Server) to handle multiple languages.
If you want to enter text in one language and search using another language, you may need to use some form of normalization to convert the text to a common format.

I would like to convert my code from VC#.net 2003 to VB.net 2005 as I use VB more than C#.net and this is the only version of 2005 VStudio I have and I need the project I'm working on done whithin 2 weeks. Is there any free programs that will convert all the code?
In the end we're all just the same

If you're ok to convert 100 lines at a time, you can download the demo edition of our Instant VB converter (www.instantvb.com).
You'll find the results much more accurate than the on-line converters.

I want to creat my own visual styles in my application similar to that of vista's black shell. How would you go about doing that? I know that this code:
void Main() <br />
{ <br />
Application.EnableVisualStyles(); <br />
Application.DoEvents(); <br />
Application.Run(new Form1()); <br />
}
Gives the app a WIndows visual style, but I want it my own style. How would I do that?
In the end we're all just the same

Hello.
I have a listview to which i can add or delete items. It has alternating colors. When adding i am just coloring the last item depending on the listview count.
When deleting i must recolor the listview as i can delete any item not just the last one.
For i = 0 To lvSelected.Items.Count - 1
If i Mod 2 <> 0 Then
lvSelected.Items(i).BackColor = Color.NavajoWhite
Else
lvSelected.Items(i).BackColor = Color.White
End If
lvSelected.Refresh()
Next
But after this code the listview hasn't changed the colors. It changes the colors as the code tells only after click in the listview.
I tried with lvSelected.update but still nothing.
What can i do so that after the delete button click the listview repaints and shows the right colors?

Did you get it? Good. Glad to be of service.

Post the query causing this error so that someone can help you out.

This is a common error if you are using an Access database. It means that you haven't set up the proper file permissions.

Actually, around the noobies, the most common error is trying to use a DataAdapter with a query that returns a dataset without a primary key column, which I believe is this guys problem.

Is the primary key needed to insert records?

Not really, but it is needed by the CommandBuilder object to create all the other SQL commands using the SELECT as a template. It's needed by the UPDATE and DELETE queries.

Do you mean SQL Server authentication or Windows authentication? Be more specific in your request and provide a bit more information so we can help you.
