Hello,
I am using an ActiveX control in my form application of C#.
I want that this application should be restricted up to UI support only and all the operation(like Drawing) on this ActiveX control should be handled by a separate ClassLibrary application.
To obtain this i took a global object of ActiveX control in my class library application and initialised it in the FormLoad() of C# form application.
But it is saying a type mismatching in assigning the object.
Please help me to come out of the problem or if u can suggest any other way to fulfill the requirement, i ll appreciate it.

Hi,
i have one class i compiled.In file dialog all the dll's of different classes are there if i choose one dll then the corresponding class name and all its public methods should be displayed then it will show all the public methods is it posible, if posible how can we achive this in c#

Hello,
I have made my application with SQL Server 2005 Express (C# Windows Application.) . Now, I have made a copy of the application in different folder and I copied the .MDF file and Now When I run that application, I do some change in the .mdf database and I close. After that, when I open another version of the application which is located in different folder, I see that, the .MDF database is updated with the changes I made in the other version of the application even though I copied another instance of the .MDF file in that directory. Why is this happening ? Cant I isolate all .MDF files so that one database is not being affected by others ?

Actually I have a windows application(Devloped in asp.net 2005) connected with the remote databse (sql server 2005)..which I can access through the internet………………….
The requirement now is to secure my data in between ..that is the transportation of data should be secure ..so that no one can access it in between the network..
I know that sql server provide security to encrypt the data but I need the data security in the network. is it possible by some ways?

I want to create an application from a source, but the source is on Java language. For Windows application I just reference into vjslib.dll (Contains all Java functions), but in mobile we can not reference to this library because the application will be large. So I just need the compact that contains java hashtable, vector, thread, etc. If you confuse what I want to make, I just want to convert the TinyOS and TinyDB library (that library written on Java), to convert that library is easy but both sometime have a variable typed on Java like hashtable, vector, etc.
Simple mind programmers, I don't need a complicated mind.

Hi,
I see you posted a question a few years ago regarding using vjslib.dll in a Windows App. I am looking into unzipping a file on a scanner using Windows CE and am running into a size issue. I was using the vjslib.dll in my C# application but I am looking for the equivalent dll in the Compact 2.0 framework. Did you ever resolve this issue?

There's no resolve for this, I just write/convert manually javacode into C# code using Compact Framework 2.0. It's look like Microsoft stop developing J# platform.

Hi everybody,
I want to call a secure web page through desktop application. Though .net automatically validates it but i want to get the exact status of error. In previous version certificatePolicy property of ServicePointManager was used for this purpose but now it is obsoleted. They have provided another function ServerCertificateValidationCallback but when I reach at the statement, it gives an error :
"System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed."

What do you mean with 'contents'? The code? You can surely fetch the IL code but this probably won't help you much. There also (complicated) ways to transform it back to C# code but it will never look exactly like the original code.

I have created a bitmap class and loaded an image from a jpg image, and now need to save the bitmap as a 24-bit .bmp file. However using the default .save method saves at 32-bit by default. I can't figure out how to change this so that it will save to 24-bit, as this is what i need. Do you need to declare it when you first declare the bitmap, or only when you save it?

You must create bitmap with 24 bit pixel format:
Bitmap bmp = new Bitmap(width, height, PixelFormat.Format24bppRgb);

Hi i am having some problems with my progressbar. i am copying a file and i am wanting the progressbar to show the progress of the file that is being copied using file.copy(path,path2). I did some research and this is what i have
syncbar1.Maximum = Convert.ToInt32(path2);
but it isn't gradually increasing. could someone help me with this?

Hi again 
Maximum is the maximum value that the progress can have (usually 100 or 100%). You need to be changing the Value property of the progress bar:
syncbar1.Value += 1;
Does that help?

Hey Sean! whats up man. Yeah i think i am on the right track because the is because the syncbar is moving up but it only moves up to 1 tick.
File.Copy(path, path2);
syncbar1.Value += 1;
syncbar1.Maximum = Convert.ToInt32(path2.Length);
what i'm wanting to do is have the progressbar show the percentage of the file being copied. Like if only 43% of the file is copied it should only show 43% on the progressbar.

Yeah ok I see what your trying to do. I have never tried to do this but I do know that File.Copy() just copies a file; no progress reporting. I know of a Win32 function (called CopyFileEx) that you can use to do what you need for your program. It uses a callback function to give you the progress of the file copy. As you said earlier you are just learning C# so this might be a bit advanced for you. But if you have any questions just post a question here on CP and I'm sure someone will be able to help

I would try it myself for you but I dont have the time
