Make a new webpage in which you will display the data from database. Then show that window with javascript when you need it.
You can not access a databse from JavaScript.

Q:What does the derived class in C# tell to it's parent?
A:All your base are belong to us!

But you could use AJAX to callback and display the data. If it's just a tooltip you require, most server controls will provide that functionality and the data could be bound when the rest of the control is bound...

Can you not just alter your regex to perform the check you are currently using for your e-mail string and then whatever separator character you are using being present many times in the string?

Hi,
Below is the javascript code for E-Mail validation,
//Check for Proper Email Id
//For this function Email id has to be passed
function echeck(str)<br />
{<br />
var at="@"<br />
var dot="."<br />
var lat=str.indexOf(at)<br />
var lstr=str.length<br />
var ldot=str.indexOf(dot)<br />
if (str.indexOf(at)==-1)<br />
{<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
if (str.indexOf(at)==-1 || str.indexOf(at)==0 || str.indexOf(at)==lstr)<br />
{<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
if (str.indexOf(dot)==-1 || str.indexOf(dot)==0 || str.indexOf(dot)==lstr)<br />
{<br />
alert("Please enter a valid E-mail id.")<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
if (str.indexOf(at,(lat+1))!=-1)<br />
{<br />
alert("Please enter a valid E-mail id.")<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
if (str.substring(lat-1,lat)==dot || str.substring(lat+1,lat+2)==dot)<br />
{<br />
alert("Please enter a valid E-mail id.")<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
if (str.indexOf(dot,(lat+2))==-1)<br />
{<br />
alert("Please enter a valid E-mail id.")<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
if (str.indexOf(" ")!=-1)<br />
{<br />
alert("Please enter a valid E-mail id.")<br />
return false<br />
}<br />
<br />
return true<br />
}
Note: For multiple email ids u can split the email ids and send one by one to check.
Hope this will hepl u...

Hello,
I have number of .jpg images as a input.
My user requirement is to display these images one after the other in browser so that its look like playing a video.
One simple solution is to link image one after the other and display it with specific time.
Please suggest me to implement the above solution in asp.net with C#
Regards
Praveen

I'm not 100% sure but I think you need client code for that. Something like Javascript.
The reason I say this is the following:
- You need at least 24 images per second to make a movie.
- You can't load 24 images a second from the server. (or at least I don't think it's possible)
- If the images are local you could, but it will not be reachable via server-side code.
If you need something in the line of a slideshow you could.
- Look into caching: Only refresh the image
- and maybe the timer function (just an idea, don't know if it works in ASP.NET)
hope this helps

Hello all,
I have a problem with displaying the "CreateUserUrl" property of the Login control on a Content Panel. I do not know what the reason is except for that particular property, everything else works like FailureActionText, etc. Also I have tried to add a hyperlink externally, but that doesnt work too.
Please do suggest some solution if anyone knows. I am pasting a part of the code here.
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" Runat="Server">
<form id="Form1" runat="server" method="post">
<asp:Login ID="Epay_Login" runat="server" CreateUserText="Create a new Account" CreateUserUrl="~/EPay/CreateUser.aspx" RememberMeSet="false" DestinationPageUrl="~/EPay/RequestSpace.aspx" FailureText="Login Failed. Check Credentials" FailureAction="Refresh" />
</form>
</asp:Content>

You don't see the "CreateUserUrl" link rendered at the client side? Do you see the text "Create a new Account" at the client side? Or what else do you mean by it's not working?

So I added a hidden filed
<asp:HiddenField ID="CategoryID" runat="server" />
I get the form method to POST.
But on the next page it says the form collection doesn't have any objects.
Is there a special setting to get it to work?
I'm using VS2005

Nick, you mean you are using the cross-page posting and on the next page you cannot see the hidden field in the Form collection? Could you be more specific with your sample code?
|
|
|
|
|
actually no.
I am making a forum that has categoryID's, topic'ID, and entryID's
I have 2 hidden Input fields on form 1.
on the topic page I have 2 input fields. One contains the categoryID and topicID.
when I go to the final page, lets say form 2. I want to do this
string catID = Request.Form["CatgeoryID"];
string topicID = Request.Form["TopicID"];
thats all I want to do.
This works fine in VS2003, but I can't get it to work on VS2005.
thanks for helping,
nick

Actually yes. I was 5 pages away from it in my book.
But I have a problem. I have the next page set up for the cross posting.
But on the previous page I have a hyperlink column inside my GridView. I need to attach a PostBackUrl property to it.
I need these to look like hyperlinks( meaning appear as text of the screen )
How do you suggest I do that?
thanks
nick

You may use the TemplateField with the LinkButton whose PostBackUrl property specifies the Url of the next page. For more information, you can see MSDN[^].

I have a data list with a Web User Control
this WUC has an ImageButton inside it.
WHen i click it I get the following error:
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableeventvalidation="true"> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
DO I call this on the Main Page?
Thanks,
Nick

Does anyone have tips or hard-earned wisdom with regards to writing a .NET Web Service which is intended to be used by a Java application? Are there any things that I should keep in mind about things such as:
1) SOAP formats
2) ref or out parameters
3) SOAP deserialization quirks found in the Java platform
4) Things I have not thought to list...
I've given this topic some due diligence (a.k.a. Google) but am hoping someone has nuggets of wisdom that I didn't find yet.
Thanks for any help,
Josh
