i can prolly toy around with the code and make it produce random unique numbers but i do need that code fisrt...

Well, as I said you have to check horizontally, vertically and in the 3x3 box for duplicates. Start with all numbers 1-9 and loop through the related squares and remove the ones that are used. Then randomly pick one of those left.
By the way, you can download Visual Studio Express versions for free from Microsoft, so it's not a big strain on the budget...

would it not be simpler to put a code string before the randomization process that prohibits doubble numbers for each row, column and 3x3 box?

A random number is just a floating point number between 0.0 and 1.0. There is no code that prohibits certain ranges for a random number. You have to take that whole range and distribute it equally over the possible numbers.
If all numbers are used except 1, 4, 6 and 7, you distribute the random number range equally over those four numbers:
0.00 <= Rnd < 0.25 --> 1
0.25 <= Rnd < 0.50 --> 4
0.50 <= Rnd < 0.75 --> 6
0.75 <= Rnd < 1.00 --> 7
The easiest way of doing that is of course to pick a random number between 0 and 3, and translate to the available numbers.

 Hello, can someone please help me learn some code? I know nothing of VB.NET, it is for an assignment for school... my teacher doesn't know programming and he is the only teacher that "teaches" it, we have to learn it ourselves or something... I have looked everywhere... anyway, that is no excuse for not knowing it, could someone teach me how to do vivisors and integers and stuff? Here is what I have to do, I don't want someone to do it for me, I just need to know how! The only programming experience I have had was HTML, some QBasic, and some Game Maker.

For the first problem you can use the modulo operator. It returns the rest value of a division, e.g. what's left over after an integer division. (23 mod 10) returns the value 3. (27 mod 5) return 2. To find the divisors of a number you just loop from 1 to number-1 and check if there is any rest value after dividing the number by the divisor. If there isn't, it's a proper divisor.
For the second problem you just loop to 1000, use the logic in the first problem to find the divisors, add them together and compare to the number.

but the problem is with the buffer, the device i am connecting with can transfer one mb of data, so i may need to get the full amount of data in one go, but if i increase the size to around 5000, the program gives error.

i have created a web application with web service... After deploying the application, the application is running only in my local system and it is not running in network systems. for that i have copyed the .msi file and again i run that msi file in the network system... after doing that also the application is not running correctly...
So tell me that is there any other way to deploy the web application? and also whether we have to deploy the web services for accessing the service in other systems?

I'm creating a word document with vb.net and trying to add some text to table cell in the format of
Project: Project Name
with the "Project: " being in bold and the rest not.
However all I can find is how to make the whole range bold:
tbl.Cell(1, 1).Range.Font.Bold = True
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Use the DateTime.Now property to get the current date and time. Use the Subtract method to subtract the date of birth from it.
2. Just compare them. The operator for 'greater than' is >.

For some time i m using crystalreport in vb.net and it worked fine.but, after some time when i re-opened my crystalreport, then i got the error : Invalid TLV Record. and then my report could not be opened even in design mode.
if u hv some concrete solution then Plz help me out....it's very urgent!
