ref bool is a reference to a boolean value (like a pointer in C), it is used if the function needs to change one of the calling parameters, like in C.

So just declare a boolean, e.g.:

bool myWait = false;

and then pass it as, e.g.:

library.function(parm1, parm2, ref myWait);

This allows library.function to change the value of your variable myWait.

Hi buddies
Thanx for your wonderfull support.without your help i could'nt have done that.
I used "RSP MP3Player OCX 2.7.5" . just using it, the task became a kids play.
if someone else need it can download it from net.
Simply add its components and use its method. its the most easiest of all.

I am working on a Data Grid View control that stores values of a matrix. The values can only be integers or floating point values. I have two problems:

1. How can I retrieve values from the DataGridView Control and store it in a double 2D array. Please tell me the approperiate method.

2. Can I bind the DataGridView Control to a specific data type, e.g. double, so that automatic validation can be done on the values entered.

Hello,

I am trying to use our 3rd party fax software FaxPress. It requires this line of text to be called during a command line.

Our old VB 6 app is doing this but using a shell command. I was told this could be done using the Process class in C#.

Here is what I have:

Does this look right? Is process.StartInfo.Arguments the right property? There is no batch file or .exe to be called, just this string.

I'm not sure, but you might have to set the targeted app to cmd.exe, or even run cmd.exe, and pass the comand line parameters through it's input stream.

Off the top of my head, this won't work. Firstly cmd won't return (i.e. close) and it won't execute SubmitFax as the /C argument of cmd is missing. Instead use SubmitFax for the FileName property:

Don't forget to prepend the path of SubmitFax to the FileName property.

process.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Path To Program\SubmitFax.exe";

If the SubmitFax is in the same directory as the exe, you can use

process.StartInfo.FileName = Application.StartupPath+@"\SubmitFax.exe";

You forget to replace:

executeString.Append("SubmitFax /S " + faxServer);

with this:

executeString.Append("/S " + faxServer);

"SubmitFax" is being submitted as a parameter, so it need removing (as above).
Anyway, it sounds like it's running the process as it returned an error.

Hi everybody!

I'm new on C# programming. I have a main form in my Windows applications that contains other form as a Explorer of folders. I don't want to allow to drag the Explorer form (FrmExplorer). FrmExplorer has a TreeView. I have been looking for information about it and have written the following code:

I have set the method FrmExplorer_CancelDrag in FrmExplorer Properties in the event QueryContinueDrag. But I still cannot reach the method FrmExplorer_CancelDrag when dragging the form to cancel that action.

Does anybody can help me to know what I'm doing wrong or what is it missing?

I see alot of posts about creating barcode image and so on but I havent seen any code that recognise barcode type, any help?

Usually the barcode reader converts the barcode into either keypresses or serial (RS232) data.

I'm reading a value from an ini file, ultimately by pinvoking GetPrivateProfileString from kernal32.dll. THe issue is that I want to be able to read a multiline value from one setting. I tried entering the value in the ini like this "multilineValue = line1 \n line2 \n line3", but when I read it from the file and look at it in debug I get '@"line1 \n line2 \n line3"' and the \n's are treated as string literals instead of control chars when I write the value out.

You can replace that character combination with a newline:

xpath not working with an xmlns attribute

I have an xml file and I am trying to use selectnodes with an xpath expression which is not working. After trial and error I found that the xml file has this rootnode <batchRequest onError="exit" xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:DSML:2 Blush | :O

:core"> and it is getting thrown off with the attribute xmlns. If I remove the xmlns attribute the xpath works fine. The xml file is a DSML message that I am receiving from another application.
Is this a bug or some limitation of the xpath? Does xpath has any limitations when it sees an xmlns attribute? Can any one suggest a workaround with this problem.

Neither.

You either have to specify the namespace prefix in the xpath expression, or use an XmlNamespaceManager, to access the nodes in the namespace.
