hello people!!!
i've have this trouble,
i installed my winform on some clients
now i'd like to know how can i build an update tool...
the classic udpdate of an executable... when the winform is opening, it looks for the new version and ask to the user to download this last version....
what properties have i to set or what dll have i to download or use to this????
does already exists a microsoft dll or property of WF to do this???

Hi,
I am using Visual Studio 2003. I had developed a project in VB.Net using 1024 * 768 Resolution in XP Operating System. My client wants the application to be displayed properly in any resolution of his choice.
Even though i set the AUTOSCALE property of the form to TRUE. The Form is not resizing according to the resolution.
Can You please help me out.

well...
in my WF i have the same trouble but with a difference...
in clients with the screen properties
96dpi my WF runs OK if the client setting is 120dpi the winform gone wrong... for exemple the datagrid are compressed and resized with some scrollbars....
why????

Well u can use the Anchor property to resolve this issue. By default the Anchor property is "Left,Top" for all the controls. Set this to "Left,Top,Right,Bottom" depending up on the position of the control where it is placed.

I have been watching this question since it appeared. When I write a program on my computer then try to run it on another one, it is always to big to fit on the screen. I have to crank my resolution down to write programs for other computers. When you buy a program it always seems to automaticly fit the screen of whattever computer that you run it on. I think that anyone who can answer this question will be helping more than the three of us!

u need to create a connection object to access the database and a recordset object to access a table.
then with the help of that recordset u can access the values of fields.
ex:

Hi
I am working on Windows Forms and using Windows Media Player control to play video file.
I want to define a transparent color for the video playing in windows forms through Windows Media Player or through any other media player activex.
and then where ever that color exists which i defined earlier in that video should be transparent n i would be able to see through that space.
Hope I elaborated my question correctly.

Can't be done in Media Player. All you'll see is a black background where the video is playing.
AFAIK, there isn't ANY video player that'll support transparency.

from the parent form.
1. BeforFormLoad (ie ..child form)
2. AfterFormLoad (ie ..child form)

How do you Open Your child form?
It shd be the same object that you have declared with withevents.
like

or
Obj.ShowDialog()

I do have another small , sorry if i am distrubing u
so in BeforeLoad() event I am call a Thread( th.start ), which initials a dialog box
and in AfterLoadEvent (th.suspend) I am supspending it, the thread has
while(1)
vb.net Accepts me !

I tried it with JScript,VBscript and directly in the code behind but intellisense itself doesn't have this option.Please give me suggestions answers to proceed with.

Well, what language are you using? If anything other than VB then this isn't the forum to get an answer.
In any case type MsgBox into the code window, place the cursor somewhere on the MsgBox text and press F1. This will give you help on how to use it.
Note if this fails to show help, try looking up MsgBox in Google[^] or (even better) the MSDN[^] web site.

I suppose you are developing a webapplication, you forgot to mention whether it is a web or winform.
If you are using a web app then you cannot use Message box, You could opt for 'alert' in javascript or 'Msgbox' in vbscript. Intellisense wont support JS or VBS in the codebehind.
If you have doubts using JS with asp.net the try google.
If its a winform app then MessageBox.Show("") is just enough provided System.Windows.Form namespace is included.

You've got embedded double quotes somewhere in your command text which is causing SQL Server to consider it as an identifier rather than a command.
Run it in debug and check the entire contents of strInsert just before the ExecuteNonQuery().

after careful reading of code i came up with those issues,

while converting a text area field

both "i am not me" and the activation id should've been inside single comma and i dont know if MD5 works in sql server 2000.
