It's used for controlling IP Tunneling, Filtering and forcing certain authenitcation methods on negotiated connections.
Generally, you don't want to mess with this. If you don't what you're doing, you could easily find your machine is no longer able see any networks or get to the Internet.

The short answer is No.
The long answer is Maybe, but you'll need resource hacking tools to find out. If the image is in a resource inside the executable, then you MIGHT be able to replace it without breaking anything.

I have a ASP.Net 2.0 on a subweb. For some reason the solution is much slower on our production machine then on our staging. Obviously production should be much faster because that's where our good servers are. Any thoughts?

There isn't enough information to tell you. There are, litterly, hundreds of reasons for this. From something as stupid as deploying a Debug build to load issues on the production box and network adapter, to load issues on the production boxes network, SQL load, SQL Server issues, ...

This is a two part question.
I have a site in which client is using a DFS share to provide easy referencing to a CIFS share that may change as part of a disaster recovery plan. For example:
\\corp\dfs\data ---> \\host1\data or in the event of a disaster \\host2\data
This isn't the usual use for a DFS share but we couldn't find any other way to go about creating a "common" name for CIFS share without changing hostnames.
I had thought about using a DNS alias but that throws out a "Duplicate name exists on the network" error. Does anyone know of way to accomplish this sort of aliasing w/ or w/o the DFS?

I wish to know if given an dynamic IP Address (a PC is connected to domain with DHCP Server), is there a way to deduce the Windows Login Name of the PC's current user?

If there are multiple users per computer, no.
If there is only one user per computer (ever, and enforced by some access-restriction such as retina-scanners and fingerprint sensors), you might be able to deduce the username by looking at the MAC-address of the network-adapter on that computer.
But MACs are easily faked, so don't.
And if access is restricted, you might as well use the same means of identifying the user.

You could do it using WMI, but only on machines running XP, 2003, or Vista. It won't work on 9x, NT, or 2000. Win32_LoggedOnUser[^] docs on MSDN.

I Presume that you want to change Folder Icon for certan folder
In Windows Explorer or my Computer right click on that folder and click costumize. Then click button "Choose Icon" and you will know the rest

go to your explorer settings, set the option "show system protected files" and then, edit in your folder the file folder.htt (if i remember correctly).

nop, folder.htt is an html file which defines the behavior of a folder. you will find it in the system protected folder located in the folder you want to modify

IF you want to set background image or color to specific folder, i don't think it is possible. But if you are looking for all folder, maybe you can use some program like Windows Blinds. Or try to look insade Apperence in Display Setting. I don't know if it is there, but a long time ago when i got WinME (Before i found out that WinME Sucks) i come across to change such setting. I think it was some kind tweaker.

Yes it is posible to set a inner background to a folder
I seen that in a computer i check the all the settings but all are the common settings
I think it is not related to Any system settings....

Right-click the background of the folder in Explorer and pick Customize this folder...
How much customization you can do depends on the OS. Prior to XP you could change a lot (that's the folder.htt file that has been mentioned). Starting in XP, MS removed a lot of those features, probably because no one was using them.

Recently, I have an idea that if we can prevent file contents saved frome one disk patition to another. We can safe pretect our document. However, Idea is simple, work is so difficult. Until now, I have not a good method to do this. Anyone have interested in it. give me some suggestion.

There's no way to do this. You need two things to copy a file from one place to another.
The first is Read permissions on the source file. Easy enough to take away using NTFS security. The problem is that the user will never be able to open the file in your app.
The second is write permissions to the destination. That also is easy enough to take away using NTFS security. The problem is that you can't take away permissions on a volume that doesn't exist yet, like an inserted floppy, CD, or USB drive. Also, NTFS permissions don't exist on FAT formatted disks. Abvout the best you can do here is disable all access to any drives, other than C:, through Group Policies, which you're app can't setup permanently and can be easily overriden by the domain controller.

If you are running on NTFS partition, you might consider to encrypt a file or folder.
|
|

I had use encrypt method, but still i could delete file when i was sign in as a guest.
