Hi,
I want to create a hidden registry key, it should not be editable or visible (using REGEDIT). How do I or where do I create a registry key like that Confused | :confused:

There's no such thing.

The only thing you can do is setup security on the key that prevents other users from being able to see it if THEY run RegEdit. This requires knowledge of how Windows Security works, permissions, ACL's, ... The .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1 does not provide any native support for doing this, so you have to write the code to P/Invoke all the necessary functions to setup security.

I am looking at these two different interefacing sytems within the framework, ICustomFormatter and IFormattable, and I trying to digest the pros and cons of each. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconcompositeformatting.asp[^] Discusses some of the ordering differences, but I would like your opinions!

X axis labels question - Web project

I can not figure out how to include a x axis label. When I run the program it only puts numbers 1 thru 6, which are the number of columns I have in the Bar2d graph. I would like to replace the 1 thru 6 with for example Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun.

The project is using the Imports GraphicsServer.GSNet.Charting and Imports GraphicsServer.GSNet.SeriesData in a web form.

You're best shot for support on 3rd party components is the manufacturer. Graphics Server Support[^]
Since there are literly thousands of components out there, it's really unlikely that someone familiar with the component would actually ever see your post.

I was able to determine that I needed to use:

labels.SetValue( SeriesComponent.Label, datapoint, monthArray(dataPoint))

Can you use just a connection string to connect to a database or do you always have to define it using the database connection dialog? I am using vb.net 2005 express. Also if not is it possible in another language?

Sure. It's a Connection String. All you need to do is specify what the SQL Server name is and the database to use:

Dim conn As New SqlConnection("Data Source=serverName;Initial Catalog=databaseName")

This is, of course, a bit different for an Access database:

Dim conn As New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=filePath;")

This is what I am using to populate a combo box.
cboSectionTitle.DataSource = premiumsListDataSet
cboSectionTitle.DisplayMember = "SectionTitle"
cboSectionTitle.ValueMember = "SectionID"

I get an error on the ValueMember line as follows:
can not bind to the new display member

I think there is a problem with the data but do not see what it is.
P.S. The SectionID column is not unique
in the table the fields parentID and SectionID are both primary keys

Does that DataSet object have more than one table?? Bind to the appropriate Table or DataView in the DataSet, then the DisplayMember and ValueMember will actually mean something.

Could you be more specific? Do you mean that you have strings with numbers in decimal format that you want to convert to strings with numbers in binary format?

i am codeing a doing reports in the crystal ...
i need to run them on differnt databases , but when i do the report i bind them to the server in my computer ...
then when i run it on other computers it ask for logon information , but i do not wanna the user every time he wanna view report to enter the server info ..
i know there is a databaselogon command in the vb.net , but it is not working for me ..

I need to print Code 39 barcodes on a Star printer. In order to do this I need to send a series of control string directly to the priter like Chr(27) + Chr(98) + Chr(52) + Chr(50) + Chr(49) + Chr(57) + message+ Chr(30).
How could I code suing the System.Drawing.Printing object. I've tried to using DrawString function, but I've just get the text printed out, not the bar code.
Anyone have any suggestion

Combo - Prevent MouseWheel event

Hi

I'm using the combo selectedIndexChanged Event to trigger the population of a lot of data (Indented Bill of Materials).

If the combo has focus and you move the mouse wheel... Well lots of events and lots of data.

How can I disable the mousewheel for this combo.

I tried to use e.handled in the mousewheel event, but handled is not a method that can be used.

Any ides?
