i try with some other win Xp system it get started ,but after sometime it through some memory error like
sample.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x6c3b7f98" referenced memory at "0x00000048". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

Try to use the debugger (F5) to see where the code crashes.

Probably some application which support Window 2000, IS not supporting XP.. you have manually debug the application to find which api or control is not working with window XP

I have a function in a DLL which tries to display a dialog box.
CAppDlg Dlg;
x = Dlg.DoModal();
x returns -1. GetLastError() returns 1812 which I believe transaltes to "The specified image file did not contain a resource section". I have no idea what this error means.
I've seen a few posts regarding this error in the forum but no definitive answer. Can anyone help me out with this ?

It is a "more severe" version of ERROR_RESOURCE_NAME_NOT_FOUND. Instead of not being to find the (dialog) resource you are looking for, the OS could not find any resources in the executable(s), period.
If you are trying to launch a dialog from a dialog template resource, either the DLL or the executable loading the DLL should have that dialog template available (and with the correct ID).
If it is in the DLL, but not in the EXE, then you may have a problem where the DLL is not added to the resource chain.

How do i replace the '\' with "\\" in a lpstr?
char* st= "c:\windows\system\test.txt";
i want to replace all \ by \\... so that , the file test.txt can be reached.

actually, if you write it like this, the compiler tries to escape the characters '\w' and '\t'.
if you receive the string from an application running, or from another dialogBox for example, then you don't need to replace the \ with \\ because the '\\' representation is only a design/coding time issue...

SDI(Single document interface) comes with a single view as default (AFAIK), but i want to create more than one view of a single document.
How can i do this in SDI?

I used a technique from one of them last week. It took all of 15 minutes to implement, and was mostly cut/paste.

The second one is the one I used because I need to keep both views around until the app is terminated. The article provides a way to switch views for SDI, MDI, and SplitterWnd apps.
The actual point of my original response was to show the person that if he just took the time to search instead of being lazy, he'd find the answer and be on his way a lot faster.

I was perfectly aware of that and I totally agree with you. No offense meant in my post, it is only that I have been looking for a really simple tutorial and did not expect to have to look that closer to the article list to find that.

Hello, sorry to disturb you all. I am newbie here. I would like to generate two graphs on the same axis at C/C++ platform. The first graph to be generated is an already recorded speech that will be displayed when one button is pressed. The second graph is displayed real-time as speech is spoken into microphone.
I would like to display these two graphs at same axis where first graph is displayed when a particular button is pressed while the second graph is displayed real-time.

Exactly what is your problem.. i.e. You don't have any graph control or you not able to get the x adn y coordinate... please clear.. or you can try this canned search :-

Hi !!
I got an Application Error at SetActivePage(m_PropPage).This application Error occurs only in Release mode.but not in Debug mode.
How to solve this problem.

Very doubtful. It's highly unlikely that the error ceases to exist in Debug mode. You may not see signs of it, but I bet it is still there. You will need to set a breakpoint on the SetActivePage() statement and single-step into the code from there until you pinpoint the offending statement.

Access it with its .lib file or go by dynamic loading using LoadLibrary.
