He was trying to crash VS.NET 2003...

I'd say thats Intellisense at work, trying to interpret that code, not able to and, thus, subsequently tearing VS.NET down.

it does not matter what he was trying to do, if the editor disappears because you type something then it is a bug.

I guess it could be related to intelli-sence.

During my study about operator overloding , this happend. First time I was Surpried.. Then tried to find out the latest changes in the code.. Then i found the reason..

I think this happens while pasrsing done by visual studio to generate class information etc.. I think It is BUG

it is not present 2005

Scrolling Edit Boxs

I am making an application using vc++ which requires A LOT of edit boxes and i am unable to fit them horizontally or vertically. Is it possible to make a dialog based application that scrolls edit boxs? Also, due to the nature of the my application i need to keep a portion of my edit boxes in view to read of some data. Can it be done ?

you can hide the unrequired edit boxes when you need them ,you can set the edit boxes EnableWindow(TRUE)

Compiling C++ code

Hey howzit?

I downloaded source code from this artcle: http://www.codeproject.com/internet/SendTo.asp

I am not sure if its C++ code or C++.NET code but I have no idea how to even begin to compile it, but I really need to see how it works.

I have opened the file in VS 2005, what do I do now, please help, I am a newbie please help me learn!

This is C++.NET code, just open it and hit the F7 key, if i remember properly...

I opened the file and hit F7 like you said, nothing happened, could you perhaps download the file and try it out and then tell me what to do, I would really appreciate it.

it's just a .h file, you need to include it in an existing project.

if you don't know how to create and build a simple project, I suggest you invest in a good introductory VC++ book ( vs2005 ).

By SID, I mean the key under HKEY_USERS writing to which is equivalent of writing to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. There are multiple of keys under HKEY_USERS, which one maps to the current user's HKEY_CURRENT_USER?

I get the "Shut down windows" dialog when I press Alt+F4 on the desktop, with all the other application windows minimized. To do this programmatically, which window is this that I should send WM_CLOSE to?

humm yeah, didnt realise that progman is still there as a window. may be it is there for some compatiblity issues.
