I am writing some CGI programs that use MFC. If I link statically, everything works fine, but if I link dynamically, the CGI program does not run. Because of a weird library I am using, I must link one of the program dynamically.
I am using someone else as an ISP so I don't have access to the server. Also, I have no way of knowing what DLL is not being found, or even if that is the problem because all I get is a web page that says the CGI program did not return the proper headers.
The server is IIS 5.0 on Windows 2000. How come Win2K does not include all the standard DLLs? How do I solve this problem?
Don't even think about telling me to use ISAPI! That has enough problems of it's own.

The DLL's the CGI needs are:
MFC42D.DLL
MFCN42D.DLL
MFCO42D.DLL
MSVCRTD.DLL
If it works let me know..

I'm programming for internet applications (JScript, ASP mainly)
Up until now i've been programming on explorer 5.01 (and some 5.5)
now i need to make a new ( \ compatible ? ) version for netscape (4.7 and later).
I need to know what are the main differences (or where can i find the information) in these subjects:
1. positioning objects
2. Microsoft VML (is there a netscape counterpart ? )
3. XML compatability (activeX objects ? ) server and client side
4. any other major differences

Does anyone know of a way to run an .asp page on another server and have it returned to your own .asp page on your server for inclusion. ie I own both pages, one would be on a shared server (news) and I'd like to pull news content into another page (NOT a frameset, I know you can do it with a frameset) as part of a table layout. Is there anyway to do this (I know .NET and webs services will help in the future but I need a solution now) using current asp techniques. Many thanks

The best way to get content from another site would be to use an HTTP control. I wouldn't suggest WinInet however since it has serious threading problems. Controls such as Ultimate TCP/IP from Dundas Softare (www.dundas.com) will work just fine.
Using ASP you can retrieve the extra content from the other HTTP server and paste it in however you see fit.

If you control both servers, you can also set up a virtual directory on your second server that points to the appropriate directory on your news server. Then you can treat the news page as if it were on the same web and use it in a #include statement.

I'd like to retrieve a file from a field in a DB.
So I use the RecordSet.GetChunk to get the binary file.
It returns a variant (actually an array of Bytes) and I'd like to write this array to the disk.
How can I do this?

we have using frameset. It has left frame and right frame.
In the left frame Tree structure is loading from the activex dll(VB 6.0) and getting data from database(sqlserver) and build the hyperlink. It has node and subnode. If i click on node or subnode data will be populated into the right frame.
My problem is, if i adjust the framesize some positions and click on the node and subnode in the hyperlink the framesize should stay there only. Now everytime getting refreshing and maintaing the old position only.
Any one please give the solution urgently.

Hello,
I'm writing a JSCript Web page which has to display the content of a Database table in a ListView object.
I created the object, filled it with the values coming from the table in an asp page.
My problem is now to catch events from this ListView object in my JScript page.
The events I would like to catch are the OnItemActivate and the OnColumnClicked.
I'm using Visual Interdev in coordination with Visual J++, which allows me to see the WFC objects, where the listview is laying.
Is there anybody, who already caught events from a WFC object in a JScript page, who would be able to explain me how to catch any event?

I'm writing an ASP page using VBScript to insert data into a SQL table. After I execute the string I'm getting the error Incorrect syntax near ')'. The code where I declare the query string is as follows:
'------------------------------------------------------------------------
InsSicLog = "Insert leads (siclogin) values ("&SicCounter&")"
'------------------------------------------------------------------------
where siclogin is the column name in table named leads and SicCounter is a variable defined earlier in the code.
I know this is just a syntax problem, but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
