I read the sample code. But for my understanding it solves my problem only partly. To split the path in into folders I did already.
The problem I have is,
e.g when the last node LESSON in dir "C:\Document\Lesson" ist created and I want to create the next node SAMPLES in the directory "C:\Document\Lesson\Samples" i have to verify whether the path "C:\Document\Lesson" is already existing.
How can I do that ?
One method I heard about is to use a HASHTABLE. I tried this, but I could not understand the relation between HASHTABLE and Treenode. Beginner !

You need to do a recursive search through the tree. There's no other way to search a tree with an unknown level of depth.
The TreeView.Nodes collection is your starting point; the root(s) of the tree. You can loop through this Nodes collection using a ForEach statement.
You can get a node's child nodes by calling TreeNode.Nodes. It's a collection too, which you can ForEach through. In fact, this is where recursion will come in happy. You should loop through the child nodes in the same code that loops through the parents.

I have a script that is suppose to add Multiple computers in Active Directory by pointing to a .txt file. My script runs without any problems, but in never actually adds the computer objects. Any ideas or does anyone know of a better way of doing this?

I have vb scripts to install printers, printer drivers and printer ports and everything works great with that, but I haven't figured out any options to configure the printer after it is installed. Some of the options I'm referring to are installing a duplexing options, installing extra trays and finishers as needed, and configuring paper types. Any ideas?

I am using the print preview control on a form and want to provide feedback on the mouse position in actual document relative position e.g. in the mouse move I have:

Consider that we get the data in a dataset which is displayed to the user in the datagrid. When the user makes some changes or updates this data, I directly update the database and reload the data into the dataset and datagrid. Is it possible to update all the changes to the dataset and directly post the changes in the dataset to the database? If this is possible, does it take less time to process than the normal process of updating the database?

I have some problem with smart tags. In my Smart tag action I am loading an XmlDocument with more than 100 KB of data. When the event is fires the system is not responding. Is there any limit for the Response packet? I am using Visio/Word as my Host application. It works fine when the size is below 50 K.
Any idea?

Do you want to specify HOW you want to customize the DataGrid, or are we just supposed to guess at the couple hundred things you could do to it? Not to mention, you didn't say WHICH DataGrid - Windows Forms DataGrid, Web Forms DataGrid? VB.NET 2002, 2003, or 2005?
At this point, the only thing we can do is direct you to a search for "Customize DataGrid[^]".

Hi,
I'm experimenting with VB.NET 2005 Express. I want to write a VB.NET front end to repeatedly call a console application.
My question is: How can you pass command line parameters to and execute a console Application from VB.NET? Specifically, how to pass the command line parameters, execute the cosole application and then test to see when it has completed?
I found this sample code in the VB.NET help. It calls the console app but I need some help with how to pass command line parameters and test to see if the cosole application is done.

You don't test. The Process class has an Exited event. ALl you do is create the event handler, wire it up with AddHandler, then set EnableRaisingEvents on the Process object that you're using to launch this tool of yours. Then you call .Start on that object.

Hi,
Here's a tricky one - I have a standard datagrid class derived from the DataGrid object. I'm then using that in a user control and placing that user control on one of my forms 4 times to give 4 datagrids. Of the 4 datagrids only one is editable and so I want to handle the editing event in the form rather than in the user control or my custom datagrid class as I need to use data current in the form.
Specifcally what I want to handle is the CurrentCellChanged event so I can validate what the user typed in the text box columns in the editable datagrid. So, how can I add a handler in the form that corresponds to the CurrentCellChanged event in the custom datagrid which is inside my user control?
I guess maybe I need to bubble the event up or something but I'm not sure how to do this - any pointers would be very helpful.
