HI All!
when i try to debug my web service breakpoints show question marks..and while tracing control can't reach to the ?-marked breakpoints in vb.net2003 any body can help???

hi,

i have devlop an windows application in vb.net i want to do authorisation and authentication in software using login form.

i need login_name authentication on main forms menu as well as on others forms.

For examples...Menu Item should be disable when the user name is USER, else should be enable.

how to get login name from loginform to MAIN FORM & OTHER CHILD FORM.

Help me, with ur suggestions.

should you serach for username and passowrd in table if itexists or not (database) or u set manualy username and passowrd???

i have to search username and password in database primarily and have to authenticate in mainform that who is logged in.

On Client computer i have to maintain current user information for form's authentication.

I hv one problem. I use DateTimePicker Control in My Application in vb.net. Some times i don't want to select date and i want to display blank in datetimepicker. so i get value either blank or date which i select from datetimepicker control. so please give me solution.

There's no such thing as a "blank" date to the DateTimePicker. The default date is always the current date. If nothing is selected, you'll get todays date. There' is no getting around this, since a value type cannot be Nothing.

Hi all, i need to call the Windows XP File Properties window from my application (giving it the path of the file or folder to open its roperties window)
Hints:
1- my application is in VB.Net
2- operating system : Windows XP Prffessional
Please, if any one could help, reply me as soon as possible

Hi everyone,
I am trying to change the color of form2 when i click the button in form1. Problem is that form2 and colordialogbox also displays but the form2 is not changed to the selected color from the color dialogbox. I dont know where am I going wrong.The code is as follows in form1

Button1_click.....
dim frm as new form2
frm.colordialog1.showdialog()
frm.forecolor=colordialog1.color
frm.showdialog()
end

If the color dialog in on form2, run it from form2.
Try not to modify forms from other forms! It's really considered bad practice.

data synchronization between 2 sql servers through vb.net code

need to synchronize data between our main Server and local Client Servers

both contain Patient Records, but the Local Client server contain only patient records related to that client

please give me the ways we can synchronize this data

and suggest a better solution of synchronization.

things to be considered

the synchronization process should be controller by the client application (or some front end)i.e. the synchronization should take place when the user wants it to be done and he should be able to pause or resume the synchronization optionally he may choose data for synchronization (i.e. he may not want few details that has bulk data to be synchronized)

[VB.NET] How to hide a form?

I have make a Project and start from Module -> sub main
I have two forms in this project.
The main form, I have a notify icon, and a button for hide the form.
In Sub Main,

frmMain.showdialog<br />

After the form is shown, I would like to click the button for hide this form by

<br />
me.hide()<br />

However, it just finish the application.
How can the button just Hide the form and the notify icon still here(that's the application still running)?

As I descripte,
me.hide for the click event button will just close the application,
but not only hide the form.

.Hide() does just that, hides the form. It does NOT close it.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
