you can also try look at NetAdvantage from Infragistics. I downloaded the trial version from the website and their docking windows is exactly like in VS 2005. Its pretty easy to use.

Hi,

I have an desktop win application by c#.(not ASP.net app)
And I want other users to launch it from internet browser,
just like launch MS Word from IE, or launching it like
java applet from web page. What should I do to the c# code
so that it can behave like that ? Is it similar to the concept of web application ? How many ways can I adopt to achieve it ?

And how can the c# app to communicate with the web page that
it is launched ?

vs 2005 has the right property set called "Click once" deployment which enhances winforms application versioning and deployment. By publishing it on a web server; your application will be accessible on a link... read my article on this search as "vwd"

Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me how to enter text in a Rich Edit control in C#. Is it just the plain
richEdit1.text += "This is a string";

Actually i wanted to know if there is some other way around so that i can format the text while inserting it into the Rich Edit. Somthing like i fix a particular format, then enter the text so that it appears in that format, and then change the format and enter text so that it appears in a different format.

Is it possible.. ?????

This appends the text adds the text to the already existing text.

rickTextBox1.Text = "OHOOHOH";
Replaces the text whole text of the richtextbox rather than add to it.

Not sure which one you wanted.

So I go and install this cool little tool that I have been waiting to work with and...

No project templates for:
C# Web Project or Database project

AND

I have to map to a file I cant use a DSN? WTF

I am not so sure that this was thought out well at all...who the HELL maps to a file for the database connection..?..

Anyways any help would be great, I have been everywhere looking for "extra" templates I can download to give me the stuff I want but no luck.

Hi...
I have written a application with two lists:
- standard .NET listview
- tableXP from these web
With both of them, I have the same problem on resizing columns. When I resize, the text of the columns go crazy! the separation betwwen the letters change.
With c++ listview I don´t have this problem.

I was having some difficulty displaying a web page that is stored on the localhost. Look at the code below:

System.Diagnostics.Process
Process process = new Process();
process.filename = "http://localhost/profiles/page.aspx"
process.start();

Any ideas as to how to display a page that is stored on the local server. When the file name has a http://www.domainname.com beginning, then it works fine. Why doesn't it work with localhost???

When you refer to a website (in this case your localhost is one), then the page you wish to get is not a file...
url's are not considered documents. They can only be opened by passing them as arguments.

Process.Start("IExplore.exe", "www.yahoo.com");

In your case you can try:
Process.Start("IExplore.exe", "http://localhost/profiles/page.aspx");

Tell me if this works.

I fixed your code a little. So that if "number = 0;" it won't return "0th" but will return an empty string.
