Please help me!!!
1.How do I pass a value from my C# application to a textfield on a webpage on the net??
2. I dont' know exactly how this works but can you login to a website through one line of code - through the addressbar of a web browser????
any help is much apprecated!!!

Do you mean any arbitrary web page? I would doubt that is easily achievable.

Again, is this an arbitrary website? I would doubt it unless the website is extremely badly designed.

1. I would like to be able to 1) click a button in my C# application. 2) a browser window opens with a webpage that has a textfield in it - let's say yahoo.finance stock symbol. I want this value of the stock symbol to be passed from my C# text field to the textfield of the yahoo (example) site.
2. What I meant was let's say I want to login to my website and I have my password and username. I want to be able to click a button and login without putting in the password and username every time - and all this specifically from my C# application. Let's say you have WebRequest class object and you have to pass it a URL. There must be a way to pass a URL with with the password/username in it to connect. Kind of like this except this format doesn't work for some reason: "http://www.abc.com/pass_management/user_auth.php?name=USERNAME&pass=PASSWORD"
I should be able to pass the above URL(example) to the address bar of a browser and login to my email page bypassing the login page and already opening my emails. Not sure how this works.

Neither of these are eaily achievable.
1. Requires taking over the browser in order to inject values into a web page.
2. Requires that you know the design of the web-site in order to pass through its security system (this depends on the way the website is set up and I seriously doubt any website that is written by anyone with even a tiniest bit of competance would accept a user name and password in the URL)

I have a program that does exactly that but it's not my own and doesn't have the other options I need in it.

I didn't say it was impossible. I said that it wasn't "easily achievable". The reason for that is that you are maipulating the user interface. The UI layer is often a fickle thing that humans can easily compensate for but automated processes cannot.
I have a password manager that works for some websites but gets thorouly confused by others. The reason is that some websites change too frequenly, or provide no stable context mechanism.
Passwords cannot be passed as part of the URL unless the website allows it, and I would shun any such website like the plague because it is such an insecure way of passing such information.
Now, if the website has a public API for doing such things then use that - it was designed for automated processes to interact with it.

1. The program I have has nothing to do with the website it logs into. Yet all I have to do is give that program my username and password and url and it gets into my website I don't have to do it every time as usual when I go to my website and put in the login info every time. It's obvious that program logs into my website somehow and even gets info from it. The problem is it's not the info I need. I know it's doable and I know it's quite simple. I just know it. But I can't seem to find the answer to it.
2.(question)
And what about the programs which automatically fill in your address, etc. when you go to a website that requires your info. That's what I'm talking about too.

When you find your simple, easily doable answer, tell the rest of us. Like Colin, I think this is neither easy nor simple to accomplish for an arbitrary web site. Are you sure your program is not logging into a web service (not exactly the same thing as an arbitrary website) that is designed to provide some specific information? This might well expect a suername/password login (which it passes via an encryption rtocol hopefully). If so then that web service was likely designed to return only the specific information you are getting....

I'm not sure if you understand exactly what I mean:
When you send a WebRequest to a server/website it checks the request (if it is correct - has the correct parameters - username/password) it sends you a response depeding on that. When that website requires password/username login it doesn't take you to that page but instead to a login page. The information your browser sends is the same as the information the WebRequest object does. When you have entered the login info in the web browser and press a button it still sends a request to the server with the right info and the server lets you in - it (the WebRequest object) sends a request and gets a response from the server, it doesn't send the button object or anything like that so the button pressing is not essential to sending that request.
Amazing so many programmers and no one knows an aswer to my question.

Hope u all are fine. I have to develop an application to send fax in C#. So far the knowledge i gathered I need a modem for it. But I have internet connection through LAN not by telephone line through modem. Can I send Fax under this scenario ie without modem?

as far as i have got, you need to make and execute a service on server where Modem exists. and make an application for your LAN client whenever a fax is being sent you forward the fax document to server's service and it will send the fax. and all this will be invisible for User.
that is wot i would do ...
however there are many webservices available for you to use for this purpose .. 3rd parties provide services to send FAX from Internet

when I drop html which select in IE to my textbox in winform .I use code below to hanlder the event and data.

Hi guys. I've hit a wall I have two questions:
1. How do I send a value from my C# application to a webpage on the internet? For example: I write my username, password in my application -> click a button and it opens the login webpage and automatically puts the value of login and password on that webpage -> or better yet logs in automatically too, so I don't have to press the button on the website. Basically I want to be able to pass values to textfields from my application C#, to a textfield of a webpage on a remote server (somewhere on the internet).
2. I get realtime stock quotes from my ameritrade service as Java applet. How can I pass those streaming quotes in real-time to my C# program. I know it can be done I just don't know how? I'm new to C#.
Your help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having a table in oracle 9i DB. One of the column(VARCHAR) in this table is stored with unicode string (chinese/japanese characters) .
Problem is if I take a backup of this table using the adodb.recordset.save("file") to file and lattter when adodb.recordset.open("saved file") the chinese character is lost in between any idea why this is hapenning ?

Hello,
Please have a look at Sn.exe tool in MSDN. You can import a key pair to a file using the following command at VS 2003 Command prompt.
sn.exe -k [filename].snk

AFAIK, we can not have breakpoints in release mode. Release mode does not have debug information database (pdb).

Hi all,
i have created a small editor on a Japanese XP machine
when i try to set the font of the selected text in the Richtextbox using the Selectionfont property only MS gothic and MS Mincho fonts work
other fonts such as the Batang, Gulium etc. do not affect the text.
is it a bug or something for japanese language or Japanese XP
