i would like to rewrite the program for pocket pc, now the first problem is that i want to disable the start menu(which the pocket pc2002 emulator system installed in visual stadio.net 2003,), i want to be like this, when the user swiched on the pocket pc, can only got the log-in page,but now, when i test my appliction on the ppc emulator,yes, firstly can have the log-in page,but when i exit this application, can still got the start menu, i want to disable it,so how?

I am using print dialog in my project, I want to use "the select pages FROM PAGE TO PAGE properties.
printdialog1.allowssomepages = true ' i have activated but I am not able to print only the no of pages instead its printing all pages.

thanks for that suggestion, it helped to know more about printing.
But it doesnot say anything about how to use no of pages selection (ie. FROM PAGE, TO PAGE) . I have enabled the print dialog and also the selection but was not able to print the specified pages even if i told to print (EXAMPLE FROM PAGE 1 : TO 2 PAGE), instead its prints all.

I have a datagrid with a bound datatable. I want to edit one or two columns of the data. When I set the readonly property of the datagrid to false then I have row to add new data, and this is not allowed.
Also after the inpu of the data I have to calculate a value for another column in the grid.
Datagrid = Code, Description, Price excl tax, Tax (%), Price incl Tax.
So when the user changes the price excl then I have to calculate and show the price incl (depending on the tax) or if the price incl is changed then I want to show the calculated price excl.
I'm still working with VB.NET 2002

Hi Guys. I need someone help ASAP. I’m using datagrid in my form. When user click button on that form I want all the information from datagrid to be saved in excel file. Dialog box must appear asking user where to save. I don’t want excel file to appear on the screen. The excel file must be read only file Also. I’m writing code in vb.net. Please help me out here. Also advise me if I need to reference any library. I’ve found lots code for asp.net but I need code for VB.NET Only that work.

I m using a dll file in asp pages which generates an html file after processing.It's working successfully on local server.but when i Uploaded asp pages to actual server and register my dll file there at.now my dll file is not generating html file.it's on actual server.Could any body tell my why it is happening? and how to solvr it?

What errors are you getting? I would start by assuming that this is some kind of access issue. Does your process have rights to crate files in the folder where you are trying to create files?

Ok, without an error this is going to be next to impossible other than guessing you know.
Ar you perhaps catching an exception and not displaying it? Is the library catching and not displaying an exception?
Anyway, the first thing I would do is make sure that the ASPNET user has at least create and write access to the folder where you are trying to write the files to. If it does not, set that up and see if it helps.

Hi all, don't know if anyone can help with this obscure question. I'm currently busy with a project (for school) involving data compression. We'll only work with plain text files which makes life simpler. The problem: a way to save space we came up with is to chop off one bit off each byte, because for character codes < 128 only 7 bits are needed. I've written code that does this, it converts an input file in chunks of 8 bytes, except it corrupts data (half). Here is the code I'm using:

Change the ChrW() in the above lines to use Chr(). the ChrW() function returns a Unicode character which is mucking up your algorithm.
