Try to open those files in Notepad and then save it. This will help.

Unable to get Automatic Statement Completion

Hello!

I am using Visual C++6, Enterprise Edition. My problem in editing is that, when I create a project everything works fine, however, after addition of some functions etc., the Automatic Statement Completion does not work. When I do it manually (writing down the code for member variables & functions)the program compiles and runs.

It is mentioned in MSDN that when there is a code error above the cursor the option will not be available. Since there is no compilation error how come there can be a code error?

Please help me if you can!

Close your workspace/project-> Delete [projectname].ncw and [projectname].clw file -> restart the project again, your auto complete featue will start working again!

I did not get the .ncw file. My problem was solved after deleting .clw and .ncb files.

To my knowledge, I don't think there is an easy way. What I do is add a handler for OnCustomDraw and draw it manually.

I need to embed a binary file in my exe and in my program i need to read the same file and create a new file in some directory. I dont know how to embed a binary file. Or give me idea on how to store a binary data and finally i should have only EXE file after compilation(with binary data in it).

What OS r u using. Since to impelement IPrintDialogCallback interface u need Windows 2000 minimally.

I am using Windows XP. I am migrating code from VC 6.0 to 7.1 . Previously, in 6.1 there was no such error but I am encountering this error in VC 7.1.

Try to download the latest SDK from MS site

After installing it,
check your VC IDE Options->Directories->Include Files.
latest MS SDK must be first in list

Also, modify the stdafx.h file, add next line:
#define OEMRESOURCE
it will fix bug with incompatibility CmdBar.h and latest MS SDK.

I had added the following line to stdafx.h but it didnt help.
#define OEMRESOURCE

What is the latest version of SDK ?. So I can compare it with my version. and how do u know ur version of SDK ?

Hi All,

I want to develop one utility which will watch for any operation which caused to send any document through attachment using outlook 2003.

My Question is:

1. Will Hooking to API will be better option to achieve the desired functionality? If yes, which API should we Hook for that?

2. Do we need to track MSAA events for keyboard/ mouse operations on UI of outlook. if yes, where can i find knowledge about outlook 2003 about various ways through which an attachment can be send.

No, I Believe Hooking will not be better solution, when MS provide you object model to interrect with teh Outlook.

exit(0) function in vc++.net

hello all...
i have a parent form and some child forms..
In child form(both in .h and .cpp files), if i want to exit from a particular function or procedure or event, i used exit(0) function.. it works fine..
But when i use the same function in parent form, it closes the application instead of exiting just from the particular function..
why? pls explain...

if you want to quit a function, use the return keyword...
