I have search my commupter for System.mdw and it isn't installed with Office. Open Accsess without oppening database. Then Chose from menu "Tools", "Security" and "Admin Workgroup". Then this wizard will create System.mdw.
PS: I have slovenian version of Office, so this translated menu option may not be accurate

Thanks, but that didn't work because you need the system.mdw to be able to access the security envir.
However, What I did was: I ran a search for MSAccess and delete access from there then I reinstall office. Bingo! it worked.
if you try to uninstall and resinstall office it may not solve the problem. It didn't work for me.

I "think" it does. There is a file: "C:\Boot.INI" and it has system and hidden attributes. You can manualy edit the file

When you are installing Windows XP with multiple boot, watch out for Partition Type.
Example:
If you have Windows 98 installed and have FAT32. Then you convert to NTFS, then this windows will not run, because it doesn't support NTFS filesystem
If you are installing XP on the same partition as 98, Folder "Program Files" will be the same as both system. And there is high probability, that in 98 the internet explorer will not work.
After installing on the same Partition as 98, on the last restart, boot menu will disaper, so you need manualy edit C:\Boot.ini.

It is true that windows 98 could not run under NTFS file system and if i install windows xp pro in the same partion it would have a problem with an existing windows program file folder. I have a lot of trouble with this before, now i have an experience that install windows in a difference partition would make me much for easier to manage. But what i concern is windows xp home support multiple boot like windows xp pro or not? Because i never install it before and now it is the time that i need to research about xp home edition.

At the bootom page, there is:

So you can install Home Edition with multiboot
ps: Home Edition doesn't have "group policy". Professional has more features than Home edition, but if you aren't advanced user, that need specific setting, then home edition will work same as proffesional. And if you need that specific setting, then you need to play with register

Thank you very much for your information. I already install windows xp home since this saturday morning. My computer already exist windows 98 and now i know that xp home could be able to support multiple boot. Before i just know that xp home just have some basic function not like xp pro but i want to know more clearly. The reason is, I'm going to analysis a system that going to deploy in windows xp home edition. So I need to learn windows xp home edition feature more clearly. Before i used to work with windows xp pro only to research about my networking subject.

You do not need to write an addition application to do this task. It is already build in option in the windows group polocies. Check this option in the group polocies: Network security: Force logoff when logon hours expire.

- disable CTL+ALT+DEL

In my opinion, you should build the windows service application which is run automatically during the time that the computer is start up. Try to check svchost.exe process information[^], it is the kind of service that you should not be terminate because it is importance to the windows process. So try to build your service application which is importance to any part of an operating system then you will not be able to disable it.

Log in as you usually would, hit Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Change password, and leave the new password blank.
Of course, if the admin has set a policy on passwords, you can't overcome it.

Hi,
If I try to use Visual Studio as a guest (as opposed to an Administrator) I keep getting messages that tell me I need to prove I'm an Administrator or contact my
Adminsitrator for access to the 'Debugger Users Group' or something like that.
Long story short-- this is all on my own computer (I have an Admin. Profile and I have
a Guest Profile). Please advise and thanks very much in advance...and go easy, I know I have a lot to learn...

You don't need the debugging privilege to debug your own programs. You only need it if you want to debug processes started by other users.
It sounds like you really should be using a normal user account, not a guest account. Guest accounts are heavily restricted by design.

A couple of possibilities. Firstly, if this is a parallel ATA (classic IDE) drive, ensure that you are using an 80-way cable. All modern hard drives and controllers require 80-way cables, but often computers, motherboards or add-in cards are only supplied with one 80-way cable. An 80-way cable has very thin wires in the ribbon, and usually has colour-coded plugs (blue for the controller end, black for the master drive and grey for the slave, IIRC).
If you have the right kind of cable, check that it's plugged in properly and isn't damaged. The easiest way to check it's plugged in properly is to unplug it - remembering which connector goes where - and plug it back in.
If this doesn't seem to help, and you've tried a different cable, the hard disk is probably about to fail. Replace it.
