Guys..Need some help..
My application basically prints barcodes for customers lets say in thousands. And there are operators who prints this barcodes all over the country using this application which is being run over citrix.
I am using EPSON LQ2180 printer (DotMatrix) with custom paper size
Now the issue is it skips one paper for everybarcode i print meaning if I print 100 barcodes and i have 100 blank papers coming with it.
Ideas are highly appreciated...

Hello,
I have a panel with pictureboxes in it. I turned on the autoscrolling feature and it's working fine, but I don't know how to manually scroll it now. Originally I created my own scrollbars and just referenced them, but I figured if there's an auto-feature, why not use it. I want it to scroll when the mouse gets to the end of the screen so if the user is dragging something around, they don't have to drop it, scroll, drag, drop, scroll, drag, etc.
If you know how to even reference these scrollbars I'd appreciate that knowledge!

I'm not sure if i got it correctly but if you want to scroll something based on the mouse movements than:
1) You have to intercept the mousemove event over the specific control.
2) Calculate if the mouse is close to the edge of the control (position vs size)
3) If it's close to the border (certain threshold) activate the scroll function.

Yeah, I got that much, but the problem is I don't know how to reference the scrollbars on the panel with AutoScroll = True. So far I have scrollcontrolintoview(picturebox), but that scrolls WAY too fast. I jumps completely off the screen in .000001 seconds... If you know how to reference the scroll bars, I'd appreciate the help! Thanks.

Anyway. If your problem is the "quantity" of scroll that's normally realted to the ScrollType event have a look at: ms-help://MS.VSCC.v80/MS.MSDN.v80/MS.NETDEVFX.v20.en/CPref17/html/T_System_Windows_Forms_ScrollEventType.htm
Use a SmallIncrement rather than the Large....

Unless I'm a complete moron and added the scrollbars myself on accident, the panelbox has an option for autoscroll, which will have scrollbars appear when what's in there is larger than the panelbox. I have a picturebox in there that's considerable larger so the bars show, and my problem is I want to scroll when the mouse gets near the edge. This would be easy if I had added the bars myself cause I would know how to reference them, but alas, I used what I thought would be the easier method. Anywho, I could redo the scrollbars, but it shouldn't be this hard. There is a method that says, scrollItemIntoView(*control*), but that causes it to scroll WAY too fast. If I knew how to reference the darn things, I would just lower the amount it scrolls. Thanks again for the suggestions!

OK I'm starting to see the picture (not the control  )!
You are using the scrollItemIntoView by calling it somewhere in your code. And by too fast I guess you mean "speed" (I thought a totally different thing, like you were trying to achieve an explorer style autoscroll to help the drag and drop).
I don't know that method since it's brand new to FW2 but according to the official documentation:
The scrollControlIntoView method is useful for immediately showing the user the result of some action without requiring the user to manually scroll through the document to find the result.
Depending on the size of the given object and the current window, this method might not be able to put the item at the very top or very bottom, but will position the object as close to the requested position as possible.
The immediatly in the first sentence tells me that this way you probably have no chance to obtain a smooth transition.... I believe you have to tackle it with a different approach.....

Can someone suggest some books covering OLE, classes, etc. I'm a self-taught programmer given the task at my job of automating calling up some reports in another application. They installed the application (Cerner) on my pc and lo and behold now when I look in VB Reference and components there are scores of controls and libraries, dlls, and ocx's. Now I just need to figure out how to hook my app up to these. I have many beginner books on VB but they don't really go into detail and certainly don't tell you how to utilize foreign dll's. I am using vb 6.0 by the way.

Do the following...
1) Right click on your project in the Solution Explorer.
2) Select Properties.
3) Select "All Configurations" in the Configuration ComboBox in the top left corner.
4) Select ConfigurationProperties\Optimizations in the tree.
5) Uncheck "Remove integer overflow checks".

I want to start my software automatically while startin Windows XP and no body can chane it without formattin the HDD....I assume that a registry entry will solve the problem ...But, don't know what and how it should be...Please help me writing an utility that -
- register my software for this auto start
- disable CTL+ALT+DEL
The utility should have a feature to disable this feature....

May I respectfully suggest that since you are asking the question you do not have the ability to create software that will be sufficiently stable that this would be a viable option. Also, it sounds like you are creating some piece of malware.
Perhaps if you explained better what you are trying to achive it would allow people to help you. At the moment your post rings a lot of alarm bells that you are attempting to do something that you probably ought not to be doing. So, if we know the higher level (overall) problem then you might get some answers that point you down a slightly different, but better, route to the one you are taking.

You can have Windows automatically startup your application by adding a reference to it under the following registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
You'll need to add a String (REG_SZ) under this key. The String's name can be whatever you want. The String's data must be an absolute path to your exe, and you should double quote it if the path contains spaces. Try running "regedit" and do this manually.

Easy enough, but there are two ways to do this. If you want to start your app when XP starts, you'll write your app as a Windows Service and install it as such. If you want to start your app when a user logs on, then you put the command line to start it in the Run key, previously mentioned in another post.

You're not going to accomplish this at all. The closest you can come is using techniques that malware uses and make it such a huge pain in the a$$ to uninstall it completely.

Hardly. It only launches your app. Anyone who can type "regedit" will be able to remove the value from the registry.
