Hi!!
I have to develop a Web page which is going to load an Image and perform various manipulations on it like Zooming, Rotating, Mirror Effect(Horizontal and Vertical), Zoom Selected, etc. I am not able to find any control that supports these features and is free.
I have tried the Image control present in VB6 for DHTML projects, but it's not good enough. Also I have tried using InterDev but it also does not support such a control.
Please let me know, for a solution to this problem.

Hello, there,
I have a question about padding-right. I have a text input box. I put an image at the right end of the input box and it is inside the input box. But I don't want the image block any part of the content of the input box. So I put a padding-right in the style of the input box. But when I type text in, the text will still go all the way to the very end of the input box. It seems that the padding-right is not working.
Is there a way to fix this problem?

Shouldn't you put the style="padding-right:100px;" inside the style="WIDTH: 456px; HEIGHT: 22px"?
Try placing style="WIDTH: 456px; HEIGHT: 22px;padding-right:100px;"
It may be that your second style statement was not read, because I'm pretty sure it should work like what you said.

Thank you very much. But it is still not working. The text is displayed all the way to the right end. You can try that in an IE browser. I am using IE 6.0.

Micrsoft apparently didn't choose to implement it that way in Internet Explorer.
It works as you expect in Firefox 1.0.3, Netscape 7.2 and Netscape 8.0.
Opera 7.54 and Opera 8.01 implements it the same ways as Internet Explorer.

How do you get a watermark to print using .NET and style tags? I set my background image in my div tags to point to the watermark. It displays when displayed on the web, but when it prints the watermark does not show.

In IE (and other browsers) you can choose not to print background images.
Placing it as an image on the other hand will print your watermark.

You can't call a function in a page that comes from a different domain. Either you are using a different domain when opening the main page, or the browser doesn't recognise that they are the same bacause you have specified a complete url. Try changing the source for the iframe to simply "step2.htm".

Hi all,
In one of my project, for russian language, I need to have :(COLON) in the XML file. For this while generating the XML file, I am using & ndash as one of the HTML entities. While opening the Russian lanaguage page in the web browser, I want this to be converted to :
So I thought using & ndash will solve my problem. But this is giving and error.
Please help me how to translate this colon( in the russian language.

You can directly use colon character ( in your xml source file.

I want to create a search engine which will search my sites'pages in javascript. i donot want to use indexserver.
is it possible to make search engine in javascript without indexserver if yes then how?

If you plan to use javascript for this, it means that every page on your site will have to be sent to each client for every search. If you need a search engine for your site, I bet you have quite a few pages. Sum up the total size of all pages, and make a quick calculation how long time a search would take.
If you for an example have 1 MB worth of pages, it would take a modem user (28.8 kbps) about five minutes to do a search.

Hello, I have a question about how to highlight text in a edit box in Safari browser. I have tried the createTextRange methond which works in IE and the setSelectionRange method which works in Netscape and Firefox. But both methods are not good in Safari. Is there a way to highlight part of the text in a edit box in Safari? I tried hard and searched hard, but cannot find any solution.

How can I use the DropDownList control to handle active and inactive field values. For example, a Web form is used to display historical Assignment records and has a DropDownControl called ddlProjectCode. Since we are showing historical records, ddlProjectCode has to be able to display both active and inactive ProjectCodes, but when the user tries to change the ProjectCode or add a new Assignment record, then ddlProjectCode should only list the active ProjectCodes. Has anyone come accross a similar situation?
I thought I could use the DropDownList.Text property to display any text, even if it is not in the list, but that does not seem to be the case.

Instead of juggling your data using one ddl, try using 2 ddls placed at the same location and show/hide them depending on your conditions.

I have a .net web service. A few weeks back the SSL certificate was updated and now an external client is having problems posting requests. Does something need to be done to update the clients' certificate?
