thanks for all your suggestions ill try em.... i tried using directX but... directX mode is initializing a blank screen and im not able to read the actual display.... ok ill try and if any one can give me some sample assembly code please get me

I have kept some ActiveX like a Button,
Check Box, & DateTime Control.
i get the events for the button but not
for the datetime control i dont get any
event notification or message(windows message).
Do anyone has any idea.

I want to know what are the differences of Windows NT from Windows XP when in comes to affecting your application. One example is the Windows Directory of Windows NT is WINNT while WINDOWS for Windows XP.
ProcessEntry32's szExeFile works well in Windows ME and below, you'll be able to get the complete path of the file. While if you're using Windows NT and XP, you have to use ModuleEntry32 instead of ProcessEntry32 in order for you to acquire complete path of the process running on your task manager. But of course Its off the topic which covers the difference of NT over XP.

How will I be able to get the IP address of the computer connecting to me? For example, I'm the server and there are quite a few computers that send files or interact to me. I need to get their IP address for me to use as their ID. I'm using MFC Sockets. Thanx in advance

The second argument of CAsyncSocket::Accept lpSockAddr is the address of a SOCKADDR structure in which you'll get the address of the connecting entity.

I am learning MFC exe application.
I have to convert ini files to xml files through my application. My sample ini file(ABCD.yak) is:

[Section1]
Key1=ABCD
Key2=20
Can anybody tell me how to convert it into an xml file using mfc.
Please tell me which functions should I make?

There is this article on CP: A Technique to Customize the Title Bar of Windows[^] which lets you draw the title bar of an application. I have to do the same thing but all my applications are written in MFC. So my question how could I use the above mentioned code in MFC? Or is it possible? If not how could I custom draw the title bar in MFC. Or how could I combine the two?
Any sugestions would be greatly apreciated. This is a time sensitive matter.

very interesting article. i'll look into it in more detail. in the mean i found another solution for my problem. I just set the border to none in my dialog getting rid of the system tray, and added a background with my system tray and the buttons i needed.
wouldn't like to do this each time , so i'll look into the article as soon as i have the time.

Hi I'm busy writting an Win32 application (not MFC) to display random bitmaps every 15 seconds while playing a Random song the application needs to be able to enumurate like the music folder and play a random song from there and enumurate the bitmap folder and play a random file from there
if someone can help me with the most basic file/folder enumuration i would be greatfull
