Hello all,
I'm working on a webpage with access db using ADO.NET.
I made a web form that is causing me the glorious "Unspecified Error".
It happens when i refresh a page for 21 times (when the aspnet_wp process becomes too big to handle), what makes me believe that it may be a connection left unclose. Although i've checked all the connection and it seems pretty okay to me.
Do you know any way to view how many (and which ones if possible) connections are open?

rowid

In the delete trigger populate this table. This is a simple implementation of the audit trail.

Is it possible to use a dataview to return multiple rows using two keys for the column? The result set must be based on two condition in the sort function for example, dataview.Sort = "Col1, Col2".
Now, how do I use the FindRows function to use 2 keys or do I use a different function? Should I forget the idea of using a dataview and stick with a datatable?

Dear Ixhan,
You can do this by using rowfilter property or select method for table of dataview.
This way u will get a set of rows that can be stored in other rowset or bind to a datagrid.
If it works then reply me.

My delete command is “DELETE FROM parentTable WHERE id = @id_Orig” for dataAdapter1 and “DELETE FROM childTable WHERE id = @id_Orig” for dataAdapter2(+ corresponding parameters). Then I call the parentRow.delete() command to delete the rows. Finally I call:
dataAdapter1->Update(parentTable);
dataAdapter2->Update(childTable);
This works if I only have ONE child row for that parent row. However, I get a System.Data.DBConcurrencyException if the parent row has multiple child rows. Why does this happen? Is this because adapter2 is trying to delete rows already deleted? If so how can I fix this? Thanks so much.

I'm using DataBinding to create a software. I use wizard to create many data form. How I can reuse OleDbConnection to create one and use it in many form that i can still using wizard with OleDbDataAdapter.

You can't do this. To use an SQL server database, you must install the server.
MDAC is just an interface client, in this case, it interfaces to SQL Server.

hi,
I am using sqlDataAdapter select command based on multiple tables to populate DataSet . I wanted to update only one table data by using UpdateCommand Property becauze sqlCommandBuilder is not supported for multiple base tables. plz help me to write Update Command. SelectCommand is as

im reading a book "Network Programming in .Net with C# and Visual Basic.Net" by Fiach Reid
im now in the chapter 3 "Working with the sockets"
and im trying to execute the program that's starting at the page 82
and i received an error.Then i put a breakpoint to see what's the problem
then i saw that the problem happened in the Sub "acceptHandler" and this is the snippet code :

I’m trying to create a new access database and I get an error message that doesn’t make sense.
This is the code:
Dim cat As New ADOX.Catalog
cat.Create("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & "Data Source=C:\NewDB.mdb")
This is the error message:
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'c:\newdata.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.; operation not complete
Doesn’t make sense because: how can it be opened by another user if it doesn’t exists. Why would I need permission to view its data if I am only creating it.
Any ideas about this issue?

The equivalent code in C++ works fine for me, except that I am not trying to create the file in the root directory. Try C:\Temp\NewDb.Mdb (make sure that the directory exists and is not write protected). Also mke sure that the file really doesn't exist yet (leftover from previous failure).

This worked: Try C:\Temp\NewDb.Mdb
Why is it that it can not be created in C:\ ?
Something else:
how can I check if the access database exists and how can I deleted?

Security on the root directory typically permits only administrators/system to write there...

hi,
In sql server 2000 , i wan to debuf stored procedure.But when i go for debugging it simply execute and not go for debugging.Can u sole my problem.It is i think most important problem many of us have faced or facing.

How are you trying to debug the stored procedure? I usually just use Query Analyzer to debug stored procedures. Just right click on the stored procedure name in the treeview and click 'debug...'. It will open a dialog box to allow you to enter values for all the parameters, then you click 'Execute' to start debugging.

Sorry,
Thats why I asked how you were trying to debug; I thought maybe you were tying to use the Visual Studio integrated debugging, which has not always worked well for me. I have never had any problems debugging in Query Analyzer, and I use it for all my stored procedure and trigger debugging.
I hope you can find a solution.

hello,
Actully when i right click on stored procedure after that i click debug then i got a pop up msg telling that,
"sp debugging may not work properly if you logon as 'local system account while sql server is configured ro run as service.You can open event viewer to see details."
"do you wish to continue?"
"yes","no","cancel"
I selected yes but it is simply not debugging.Even i login as 'sa'.Please tell me any other configuration is there or not

I am using SQL Server 2000 Developer edition. A setup with nothing special selected; I just clicked 'Next' and accepted all the defaults.
