This is not a deal that i am expressing too, but it's a fact happening now a days.
I have five members in my team. What ever it is, End of the day i need to sit with them to help to consize and make it productive with less resource consuption.
How abt you ?

Yeah... and I have a little different approach.
Softwares are already inside of computers and I only shed unnecessary pieaces of 0 (zeros) and 1 (ones) and software got its freedom to its full form. Just like Michelangelo used to do his sculpturing.

- I code alone, 47.37%: Unemployed.
- With 1 other person, 11.99%: The only other employee who is also the boss thinks he can do better sometimes.
- With 2-4 others, 22.69%: Fortunately one of the people in the group knows how to do the homework assignment, the rest need to buy beer.
- With 5-10 others, 10.7%: All of them call themselves designers.
- With more than 10, 2.85%: I am a consultant.
- It varies too much to say, 3.8%: I am between jobs.
- I don't code. 7%: Janitor or project manager.

Cute... No matter which you answered, there's something wrong with you I used to be in the "more than 10" category and your statement was so true. I was a "consultant" although it's more like a contractor as the client doens't want your opinion or expertise, just your coding skills. Now I'm a "code alone" person and, thankfully, it ISN'T because I'm unemployed.

LOL... very true.
I, myself, work alone and indeed unemployed or in other words self-employed. All work of euphemism.

Hello,
In school they tought me the connection between the time to complete a project and the number of team members. The formula is:
nTimeToComplete = nTimeToCompleteOnYourOwn * nNumberOfTeamMembers.
This is at least true for the school projects I've been working on. All the discussions and meetings eat up a lot of time...
|
|
|
|
|
Now the senario changed into
nTimeToComplete = nTimeToCompleteOnYourOwn * nNumberOfTeamMembers * nNumberOfPolitics

you don't need to spend most of the time communicating with others, you just spend the time going out for walk or watching a movie and coming back figuring out what to do next.

If you are really working together:
1 - No much explaining to do
2 - U realise your own mistakes when explaing

Did someone write a song about coding??? Yes
Green Day, please forgive me
"Boulevard Of Broken Classes"
I code a lonely code
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it runs
But it's home to me and I code alone
I code this empty app
On the Boulevard of Broken Classes
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I code alone
I code alone
I code alone
I code alone
I code a...
My shadow's the only one that codes beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I code alone
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah
I'm codeing down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I code alone
Read between the lines
What's f***ed up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I code alone
I code alone
I code alone
I code alone
I code a...
My shadow's the only one that codes beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I code alone
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah
Ah-ah, Ah-ah
I code alone
I code a...

Team work is efficient and fun at same time.
you can't handle a big project alone in a specified timeframe. small projects can handle by self, but things will change when we are about big business projects !!!!
SO EVERYONE MUST PRACTICE WITH TEAM..!!!! atleast that will increase your productivity and social relationships..!!!!

Ninety-eight percent of the thrill comes from knowing that the thing you designed works, and works almost the way you expected it would. If that happens, part of you is in that machine.

But From where to bring the TEAM , when you are working with the company which has only Three S/W Developer including the BOSS.
In that case you have to Work Alone to complete projects.

Speak for yourself. Don't generalize. I can, have, and am currently handling large projects by myself, since I am the only one here.

That means you didnt know what is a large project!!!
since you are not a superman..!!!! we know how much work can be done by a human being...
You need to refer the meaning of MAN HOURS..!!!!
