Add an OnSubmit handler to your form. In that onsubmit handler, simply make the submit button disabled.
EX:

It seems that for some reason, the JavaScript function encode() returns an ASCII encoded string regardless of the pages explicit setting to 'utf-8' (I'm testing in Exploder 6).
This means that the ASP.NET Request object will dismiss all the special characters encoded as '%XX', because it expects them to be in the form '%uXXXX'.
Does anyone know, of the correct method to use for encoding to UTF8?

We are using Ensim 4.0 with MailEnable for Windows 2003. I am having an issue with these programs not automatically creating a virtual directory for the webmail when a new domain is created so I have to find another solution. We need this task to be automated so whenever a new site is setup the webmail will be available.
My options are to find a script or how to write one that will check all the websites and create a virtual directories for any sites that don't already have one for webmail... or implement somekind of redirection where if someone enters a domain name with the text /webmail in it, it will auto redirect to the proper webmail site
This task needs to be automated somehow as we have resellers who add websites and do not have access to setup the needed virtual directory for our webmail site

i have both of these links on my websit and the one with the zip file opens a save as box but the one with the .xls file opens excel in my web browser is there a way i can stop excel from opening and force them to download the file

What you need to do is open it up on the backend with ASP, PHP, etc. and then send it to the client without showing the data type. Here is an example in Perl:

The important part here is the content type and the content disposition. Application/X-download forces a download instead of trying to open it in the browers. The content disposition keeps the filename, otherwise it is named "document" with no MIME type.

I know in perl, there is a library called LWP which causes your program to act like a web browser. It will go to the address you supply and gather the html which would normally be sent to the client's browers and saves it as a string. How is this done in ASP or ASP.NET?

I don't know anything about the extent of LWP, but to retrieve a page from the internet, look at System.Net.HttpWebRequest. I have not used it, so I don't know how well it works.

I created a simple web application with asp.net and access database to keep track of the phone call messages recieved in my company.
In the main page i have a dataset to display all records of the calls that have not been acknowledged yet, the page refreshes everyone 1 min to display any new records added.
I was wondering how to make my web application to know if a now record was added in the dataset and also how to make a visual alert like a popup message or a window to open up to inform you that a new record was added instead looking all the time at the page to see if a new record pops up.

It looks like you are trying to implement a "server-push" technology. This is possible, depending on your platform. As a linux guy myself, it is hard for me to say this, but IIS actually does a better job at it. Go to MSDN and look up "no parse header" (requires http 1.1). This is the connection type you will need to use if you want the server to push new data to the client without the client asking for it. Basically, the connection between the client and the server isn't broken, so the server can wipe the page and send a new one.
When a new record is added, you can have that trigger a push of new data to the client viewing the calls.
If, for whatever reason, you can't do a no-parse-header, you may want to look into using a java applet embedded in the page which talks to a servelet with no break in the communication (similar to a web cam).

I’ve have two users who are being prompted by the system to gain access to our website. The our website is using NT authentication only and validates their credentials programmatically, so there’s no prompting for user id/pwd. The only time I can think of when a prompt would occur is when the user is not on the network, is on another domain besides the current one, or the user’s password isn’t synching up properly. For the information I have been able to gather so far from these users, none of these are occurring (they have access to Email and other systems).
Any suggestions?
