I have a dataset which contain only one DataTable. In my Business logic, I am selecting one data row from the data table which is there in my dataset.
When I try to modify the data in data row it is modifying successfully. like wise I am getting all required result for consecutive updation,add,deletion etc.
I can able see the changes that I made in dataset. And it reflects in user interface. The problem is , when I try to update data back to database it execute the Update method successfully. If I try to see the data in database it doesn't shows any updated data. I am using Asacommandbuilder to get all relavent command while passing a Sellect command.
I am using Sybase as database(Ianywhere Client).
No error no updation. Really I am getting mad. Any Idea ? D'Oh! | :doh:

I am displaying images as thumbnails from a folder on a panel. On click of any of the images i need the name of the image file being clicked. Here is how i am displaying the images:

Hi,

when you draw your images remember their locations. In this case I would hold a Rectangle array to store this information. E.g:
(some field)

<br />
Rectangle[] rects = new Rectangle[NrOfImages];<br />

(in the loop)

rects[i] = new Rectangle(x, y, width, height);<br />

To determine the clicked image:

Not if you want to instantiate it, never then, not even locally :p To use that class you will need somekind of implemetation somewhere.

Hey Everyone,
I am new to C#. I am writing a small application. This application will read a method name from a flat file. Then call the method in another class library with the same name as the one read.

Example, I have a method "add" in the flat file. and the other library is "Math", then my aplpication should call "Math.add", the other library may change and so the flat file.

This is something similar to dlsym that I used in my c/c++ programs on unix. Can something similar be done here. Unsure | :~

The name for what you need is "Reflection". See the sample on MSDN about MethodInfo class, e.g.:

how can I add CheckBox Column to a dataGrid without mapping it to the dataset
I want to retrieve a column from the dataset and beside him a Checkbox Column
that he checks then I want to retrive the checked records according to the first column...

I create a web service with an DelItem() method to delete a record of a table in SQL2000 database via a store procedure.
It works correctly itself but when i call it in my web application an error (UNAUTHORIZED) occurs.
Whats the problem?

Your webservice needs authentication and your client application failed to provide credentials.
On the web services client, set the Credentials property to some valid credentials, e.g., CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials.

Or change the web service to allow anonymous acces. This can be done from
Administrative Tools | Internet Information Serives. Then right clicking and select Properties on web site. Click the "Directory Security" tab and then the top "Edit" button. From the here select the "Anonymous access" check box.

hello i have a foreach loop that loops through each char in a string what i am wondering tho is how would i advance to the next char within the foreach loop without losing my current place within the string

You will have to use a for loop.. something like:

		string str = "this is a test";<br />

			for (int i = 0; i < str.Length; i++)<br />
			{<br />
				char currentChar = str[i];<br />
				MessageBox.Show("Current Character = " + currentChar.ToString() + "\n\nCurrent Position = " + i.ToString());

i know what a for loop is i was just hoping there was someway to peek at the next char in a foreach and advance the loop when i needed to for ease i guess

I need a solution for reducing or removing the flicker in the user controls (some controls I made) ... I'm seeking an effectient way; so please if anyone know how to do it, please tell me ...

NOTE : I have already used the DoubleBuffer Style and still got some sort of flicker ... The controls are drawn from A to Z so it continue flickering and flickering Unsure | :~

For the control's painting have you used Graphics from PaintEventArgs?.
like for form Paining.....same as below code.

Note: If you DONOT use Graphics from PaintEventArgs, there will always reamin flickering, I had the similar problem once, I solved it using the above approach.

I'm using the graphics supplied as a parameter in the OnPaint ; What really makes the control filkering more and more, is its nature as a container (such as the panel), When the control is drawn without any children controls, it works very good but when adding the children controls, it starts flickering in an unacceptable fashion ... Thanks for helping but I stell need some more IDEAS ...

Does there are any exceptions in reflections? What I found thru debugging was the parameters are setting properly n the late binding but the method is not invoked properly or it fails in the method.

Any idea ? or is the code wrong?
