Tell them that you'll have to initiate emergency back-up procedures until spare discs are acquired, but that having to print out every file every day, and then having to manage all that hard-copy output, might not prove to be incredibly cost effective.

Wow, feeling betrayed by people saying duck tape and finding out it really was duct tape and they were too dumb or lazy to correctly say the term. (I'd heard the term for years, but never had occasion to buy it until much later and then found out how it was spelled.) Then I asked why it was called something else and no one had an answer for why they were all saying it wrong. I felt surrounded by ignorance and dumb for falling for the poor pronunciation. Now I feel dumb not finding out the entomology of the word before this. In my defense I found out the "correct" use well before the web was generally known about.
