Had I not incidentally seen it non TV, I would not have known what you mean. At least half of the world needs a little more context.
As for the flying part: I would have liked to do that yesterday, but it was a little too cold. Like an eagle is nice, but I don't have much of a runway. So it has to be more like a dragonfly.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.

It's some strange slow-motion Rugby that they play briefly between ad breaks in the US, I think.

Rugby with Body Armour...

|
|
|

But it isn't.... even with all that "armour" there are serious concerns about the long term health effects in the game. Just about every contact they make would be not just illegal in rugby, but get you banned for life. Those guys are big and heavy, and they crash into each other hard.
The only resemblance to rugby is the shape of the ball.

Yeah, but as a former Rugby player who used to sit opposite a former US Football player I would tease him with that.

That pretty much sums it up.
The ad breaks get longer and longer, and soon, the entire game will be played in under 10 minutes, with a TV viewing time of 2.25 hours.

That's the trouble with pre-judging things... they aren't always what you think they'll be. I don't actually watch American football as a rule, but the Super Bowl is different... everything about it turns it into something bigger than the sum of its parts, and last night's game was a classic. Really fast and exciting stuff. End to end action, and you never knew up until the final throw of the ball who would win.

Well I didn't pre-judge, I merely told you about my experience of watching a live SuperBowl.

Fair enough. But it mirrors the commonly held perception of the game over here, which doesn't do it justice. Much like how Americans view cricket, unless one is prepared to try and understand the game properly, it's probably best not to have an opinion of it.

As someone who lives in the area where they held the fiasco, it was much more than just 5 hours of torture.
Common sense is admitting there is cause and effect and that you can exert some control over what you understand.

It was a great game. Been an Eagles fan for a long time and it was exciting to see them play a great game and win when it really counts.

Agreed,
My only regret is that Brady didn't spend enough time sitting on his butt in the grass.
But the
Philly defense almost didn't save the game. Fortubatly their offense player well above their ability!

Neither team's defence had much to be proud of - the game was all about offense, and the final score reflects that. But the Eagle's offence was inspired, whereas the Patriot's forgot turn up til the second half... when they did start to play, we must all have thought "Uh oh - here we go again..." but whereas most teams in the past have crumbled at that point, the Eagles just kept on going. It really was great to watch - I've been watching the SB for years now, and that was the best by far.
