Don't ya just hate it when you've spent a day and a half googling for obscure error messages, trying this, adjusting that,...lather, rinse, repeat. Before you know it, you've got all this commented out stuff that didn't work and basically back to where you started. 
Then, in a moment of clarity, you finally realize that the dataset name for the ssrs subreport is 'EmployeeDatails' and not 'EmployeeDetails'! I'll have to personally thank my colleague next week for this valuable lesson! This is clearly a time when I should have copy/pasted! 
To be honest, it's my first crack at a subreport in asp.net, so there were a few new things to figure out...I just failed to focus on the simplest of things and went into trial and error mode too quickly! Happy weekend loungers!

ummm, you didn't test the sql to see what the result set looked like (or as in this case if there was a result set rendered)?

ummm, of course I checked the sql, but that had nothing to do with dataset of the subreport being named incorrectly. The error messages given in the viewer/debugging were vague. Just sayin'.

Oh, well I had to debug one of my own issues this week.
It turned out to be an inconsistency in capitalization of some table column names -- most things are case-insensitive... but not SSIS, nope.

I have to say that I really hated this collaboration with Run DMC. Why take a perfectly good song and ruin it? But what do I know, they made lots of money with that version. I really need to get some Aerosmith in my collection.

Every time I log on to Win10 in the morning, this message is displayed in a small text box with the title of "Live Update". It also shows a small yellow triangle with an ! mark in it. There is also an "OK" button shown. I click the button and that's it for the rest of the session.
Anybody know what it means?

Without having your machine how could we have any idea?
Try starting task manager - processes tab to see whats running when the warning box is open,
(let it settle as during startup a few thing start/stop for th first minute or so)
and then what goes away when you click OK.

It means that the platform does not support this application.
It's probably a driver / bloatware problem: you have something installed that is trying to talk to your hardware (most likely your GPU) and it's not the model it expects.
Changed anything soon before it started?
