I'm sarcastic by nature, but this was definitely not one of those instances. I seriously don't have anything installed on the host OS other than Windows Server, Hyper-V, motherboard drivers, and updates for all of those. As such, I never bother backing up the host - it's just as quick to reinstall. Backing up the VMs is trivial, and snapshots, as you know, are extremely useful.

Well, I can't help you there. But I've been using practically nothing but VMs here at home since Hyper-V became standard in Server 2008...and once I understood the flexibility, portability and convenience, there was no going back.
Of course now I want my next machine to have 128GB of RAM instead of my current 64...

I don't jump on updates, not even major versions. When pondering to update I ask myself three questions:
1) Does it fix a bug / security hole that renders the software unusable?
2) Does it add a functionality I desperateley need / I've been longing for it for years?
3) How much valuable is the stuff that may be ruined by a failed update?

Hats off to whoever wrote that method as"wtf" is about the only meaningful name in the whole class - "d()", "e()", "i()", "v()", "w()" - seriously???
Was Android written in the 1970's? Are they having some kind of disk space famine? Are all their keyboards broken? Have the code fairies gone on strike?
Seriously, how could anyone be expected to work with names like that? Does nobody bother to code review their efforts?
It's a miracle that Android is only as bad as it is.

I read the book - twice - and the old film did not do it justice. I hope this version is better!

The mini-series for Dune had it's moments, but was ultimately a let-down. However, they did a pretty good job with Children of Dune.

I quite liked it, but it was really different to the book - I have no idea where they got the ideas for the style of the film but it was certainly interesting.
It got me interested in the books too, so that's got to be a plus point for it too.. 
Ah, I see you have the machine that goes ping. This is my favorite. You see we lease it back from the company we sold it to and that way it comes under the monthly current budget and not the capital account.

I had read the complete series of books before I saw the film. The same with Lord of the Rings, but the film adaptation of that stuck much more closely to the original. Maybe someone can now do a better job of it.

To be fair to the film producers, it must be extremely difficult to compress a very complex book into 3 hours (or even a miniseries) while keeping the flavour of the original.
Yes, I do hope the next version improves on the past.

About the only easy part of producing a Dune film is the portrayal of "Beast" Rabban; he is just a brute, albeit a useful brute. All other characters have their complexities.
Personally, I think that a good portrayal of Duke Leto would be very difficult. He is a tragic figure who successfully (and honourably) walks a fine line between his loyalties and his duties, but doing so inevitably leads him to disaster.
