NEVER, what kind of monster would do that? It's like touching someone's glasses - don't do that.
I used to understand though, with a CRT the "picture" is much further away than the glass, so if you try to stop at some distance from it you can still end up poking it. And CRTs were sturdy and easy to wipe off anyway. But now with flat screens? If you touch it, f*** you. You can clearly see where it is, wiping the non-glossy ones is a pain, and poking them hard enough can cause damage.

We had this one guy who would just "click here. Here here no just click here. here. Now go there..click on that, right here...here. no here" He sounded like he'd drank 2 gallons of red bull.
Finally had to bark at him to get him to stop. Nicely. But it was what it was.
