Not a problem.
I did not see your other questions but from the two I did saw, I would suggest you to make things as simple as possible for us to understand. You have been working on a certain requirement for a while and that would affect you choice of words while framing a question. However, you need to understand that people at CP do not know your requirements so they will need to know what you are looking for in a very simple way. For instance, I can frame a question like
How to disable response access for benutzer when verwalter changes audit entry field?
In my mind this is perfect question as I am aware of requirements. But I might not get many responses. Instead, I might choose to ask the same thing probably like this:
We have an ASP.Net MVC based application. The administrator can make changes to live application which affect the UI. How to send those changes to connected users in real time? Perhaps server push?
This should follow with a simple and to the point code sample showing what I have tried already and also explaining the approach I am try to go with.
Don't hold me accountable if even the second one does not make sense.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a completely Java newbie (not me) to learn Android Studio and Android App development?

In computer years that's what, forever? 
So what's changed in 9 years.
QA has been created, as have Tips.
iPad hit the market. Still don't own one, still don't want one.
ChromeBook hit the market. Still don't own one, still don't want one.
Raspberry Pi hit the shelves. Still haven't got round to getting one...
Windows 8 released. Still don't own one, still don't want one.
About another 4000 iPhone models released. Still don't own one, still don't want one.
Windows 10 released. Still use it, still don't want it (Win 7 was better).
Galaxy Note 7 released. Less said the better.
On the plus side, my computer is better. It's still only got two cores and 4GB of RAM, but it's got better graphics (GTX 660 Ti) and 1TB of SSD, a bigger box, a much bigger PSU and a UPS now, as well as a 16TB RAID 5 NAS. Oh, and I've changed my keyboard (sob), but not my upside-downey mouse. And got a small collection of tablets ...
In World News, stuff happened.

Been here 14+ years, and still struggling to catch up with you lot (Can't believe you are really just one person).
iPad hit the market - bought one a few years ago, love it.
ChromeBook hit the market. May get an opportunity to use one soon
Raspberry Pi hit the shelves. Still haven't got round to getting one... but my grandson has
Windows 8 released. Hated it, stayed with 7.
Still using my old Samsung ACE, with Android v 2.3.
Windows 10 released. Got used to it, and maybe I do prefer it to 7.
On my third Dell laptop and more than happy with it.
Keep promising myself a replacement for my 12 years old Toyota, but the damn thing wont break down.

I came here seeking wisdom some 11+ years ago, found it to be an awesome resource and mostly just enjoyed the daily news for a few years before I discovered the Lounge. 
What's changed? Hmmm, the one thing that was a game changer for me was remote desktop/support over the internet and VOIP. These two things combined allowed my company to lose the overhead of an office thus forcing me to work from home.
Hardware is definitely better...my current rig sounds a lot like yours, minus the NAS, but I have one I built a few months ago waiting in the wings. I've been through at least 6 different development machines (not counting laptops) since I went back to school in '98, but I still use the HP keyboard that came with my first windows system some 20 years ago.
11 years ago I was still hanging on to Win2K which I used until Win7 came out in 2009. I absolutely loved Win7 and long considered it to be the very best and most stable OS to date. I'm on 10 everywhere now and have gotten used to it...with the exception of unwanted restarts! 
Carwise, I went from a '99 mazda 626 with the headliner coming down and no A/C to my very first new vehicle, a midsize Nissan p/u which has been paid off now for a couple of years. (a bonus to working from home: it's a 2010 with 26K miles!  )
Oh yeah, 5 years ago I finally married the chick I was dating 11 years ago!
I now have two iPads, both hand-me-downs from the wife. 1 is a glorified iPod used for nothing but music, and the other is only for testing a web app where the client chose iPad for their input devices.  (I've now had some that been active for over 3 weeks now without shutting down!)
Phones: I loved my flip phone...easy to carry, kept a charge for a week, but to keep up, I've been on WP for the last 8 years. My bank recently killed their support for it, do maybe I do have another use for that iPad! I also have a couple of android tablets needing to be charged. (only for testing)
One other thing that has changed over the last decade, is how difficult it has become to be anti-social not only due to fb/social media but a seemingly thoughtless reaction from most people to call/text whenever the mood strikes...nothing sucks worse than being neck deep in a nested query and getting it almost there when...the phone rings...an hour later after a usually uninformative chit-chat and I can finally get back to work...wait, a new text from my retired bil...so he's just washed his car.  OK, back to work...wait, an email that needs attention...must respond...half-hour later, what's happening in the lounge?...too late to get back into work!

Let me give you two comments on this:
1 - the phones are anti-social behavior, diminishing real human contact, interactions, and all that stuff that makes something a social interaction.
2 - shut off the ![Elephant | [mastadon]](https://www.codeproject.com/script/Forums/Images/elephant.gif) ing phone! There is 100% no one to blame but you for allowing it to run your life.
So - five years from now, perhaps when repeating this exercise, you'll be able to say "five years ago is when I started to take my life back from cell phones and social media."

It was very quiet when I first joined. Then it became very, very noisy.

Pheeeeew... Been here for 7 years and 4 months.
At that time I just started programming.
I was a junior with no technical education starting out at minimum salary!
So fast forward seven years.
I'm a prize winning author on CP and outside of CP.
I'm a programmer at a pretty good company in the Netherlands, eight times Microsoft Gold Partner or something.
I got a little certified as well (C#, SQL Server, and Azure)!
Got job titles such as Lead Developer and Technology Expert, currently Sr. Software Engineer (somehow all of them were pretty much the same).
I'm also not at minimum salary anymore 
Furthermore, I started out at .NET 3.5 and since then I've used .NET 4, 4.5, 4.6.2, and Core 1.1 and 2.0.
I did my programming in Visual Studio 2008, but I moved to 2010, 2012, skipped 2013, 2015 and now 2017 and Visual Studio Code.
As for SQL Server, I started out at 2005 and 2008, then switched to 2012, but I'm currently using 2014.
Oh yeah, somewhere in the past seven years Git conquered the source control market, so I've switched from SVN to Git.
I'm also not doing WinForms development anymore, but web development with ASP.NET MVC and WebAPI and Entity Framework.
One of the most unexpected changes was perhaps Microsoft embracing open source and open sourcing .NET and supporting various other tools and platforms such as Node.js, npm, and task runners out of the box.
It's certainly been an exciting seven years (professionally and personally)!
