I have just returned from my act of remembrance. There is a Commonwealth War Grave here with some 530 casualties; there is even a Soviet soldier. Next door are Serbian and German cemeteries to their fallen and there were brief ceremonies to lay wreaths their before the main Remembrance Service.
If you haven't been done so today, it doesn't make a difference what your nationality is, just remember those who, for what ever reason, lost their lives in conflict around the world.
We will remember them.

This morning during our church service, the young boys I work with - grades 1 to 6 - will walk the flags up the aisle. The flag holders are the sons of those that served.
We stress to them that this is to honour all that served, regardless of country.
I live in the U.S., my daughter is American, but I told her of the service rendered by her great-grandfather in WW I and 3 great-uncles in WW II.
Lest we forget...

One Grandfather fought in WWI, badly injured in the Somme 100 years ago but returned and got a shed load of shrapnel for his troubles. Later he served in the Home Guard in WWII. My second Grand Father served throughout WWII, including having to be evacuated with his family from Malta. My Dad then went on and served King & Queen for 48 years in the RA. I've been using Paypal for many years, but it seems that I can no longer do business with them. I have a checking account set up with them that I leave empty and never want to use, but somehow I made a purchase with a vendor and an ACH draft was attempted, which of course got bounced, costing me $25 (although I got the bank to remove it). I don't want to put up with this BS anymore. If Paypal were to let me take my checking account off, I would sty with them, but they don't seem to allow this. They don't seem to give out a phone number, and when I tried to do it online, I got the message that it can't be done; also, there doesn't seem to be a normal way to send even an E-mail to them. I did file a dispute with the transaction, but I used it to simply send a message to let me remove my checking account or I was going to file a complaint with the CFPB (i.e., the gov).
Anyway, I have to be prepared to end my business relationship with them, but was wondering what would be suitable alternative. I buy stuff on eBay all the time, and have been using Paypal, but if I am no longer a Paypal customer, I'm wondering how I would be able to pay; and as well, I have been using Paypal to pay a lot of private folks, so I wonder how to do that.

Payoneer. I started using it about 6 months ago.
With Payoneer, you get a Mastercard debit card that you load from your Payoneer account i.e. you can make purchases/withdraw cash with it as long as you have transferred money to it from your Payoneer account. For me, not being in the States, this is a gamechanger because while many places let you pay with Paypal, many, many more places let you pay with a Mastercard, so this is saving me quite a bit of money because it allows me to get paid in US dollars and also to easily pay in US dollars, no need to go through a currency exchange. Payoneer also lets you accept local bank transfers in certain countries i.e. the client does a bank transfer to a local Payoneer-owned bank account and the money is then transferred to your Payoneer account.
Payoneer's fee structure is also different than Paypal's. If you bill someone via Payoneer, you get the entire sum, unlike Paypal. However, while paying via the Payoneer Mastercard costs nothing, there's a fee to transfer money to the card, and a fee to withdraw cash via ATM. Also, Payoneer has "cross-border fees": "when the transaction is made in the currency of the card, but the bank, which issued the card, and the merchant, who charged the card, are located in different countries, the cross-border fee will be charged for this transaction. Payoneer applies a cross-border fee of up to 3.5%."
One annoying thing about Payoneer's Mastercard is that it has an annual fee (USD$36), and that money is immediately taken from your account as soon as you earn enough.
You should take a look at your past few months of Paypal charges to estimate if you would have saved money with Payoneer. My rough estimate is that if you're charging clients less than $100 dollars at a time and Payoneer will charge a cross-border fee, it's cheaper to charge the clients with Paypal. It would be nice if Payoneer (or someone else) had a fee estimation calculator that made it easy to compare how much a given transaction cost via Paypal or Payoneer.
Payoneer Customer Care is definitely better than Paypal support, replies within 24 hours.
Payoneer also has an affiliate program where you earn $25 for any referral who earns over $100 with their Payoneer account.
Overall, it comes down to what kind of payment services you need. I still use Paypal for some things, mainly as a seller to people who want a Paypal payment option, but I try to use Payoneer when I can.

Buying on ebay is not really a problem without PP. I have paypal, but I cannot remember the last time I used it (its been over a year) and I buy on ebay A LOT. All you need is a credit card. Might need it for selling though, I'm not sure.
Sending money to private parties however, will be more of a challenge, unfortunately. If you have online banking you can use the bill pay to send someone a check... its slower but it works. It has gotten a bit easier for the receiving party in recent years cause they can use their phone to make a deposit with a picture.

I managed to get out of the role as the IT guy a when smart phones & pads appeared:
1. act dumber then the source person when handed a phone/pad to be fixed ('how do you get to main screen')
2. point at somebody half your age using a similar device doing all sorts of magic (like taking a picture of his lunch) and tell the original person to see them
...in honesty that's not all BS, how fast and what kids can do with those things twiddling one thumb is streets past my skills using all my digits - sometimes takes me more than a few pokes just to hit the right spot on the tiny little screen even when I go full-on serious and take off my glasses,... mutter mutter ... stupid smart sh*t, bring back the rotary

Many moons ago installed comodo antivir on a win2k machine, about 1 month later uninstalled it (slowing too much). But it never really properly uninstalled, left crap everywhere (files, temp folder logs, registry, seven system folders that time). Couldn't even re-install it to re-try the official uninstaller, ever - uninstall helper utilities couldn't suck it out either.
Never trusted the dodo again.
This week (Wed), W7 box, client request 'take a look at comodo backup', OK, their choice (their box)
late afternoon, install - ok,
hey, it's almost 4:30pm, well past time to go home (reboot to be sure install complete ...)
next day (teamv) try it out, schedules etc, seemed - ok, but missing features wanted,
uninstall, binge watch some shows, quick teamv connect to check no errors, reboot, go to bed
Sat, bored, start download of another backup software, doing a little file housekeeping,
helloo, comodo log file in temp: kill ... "file in use," ... What!!
task manager - yup, comodo services running,
kill, kill, take ownership of Program Files directory (coz the scrambled the perms), delete,
registry - also full of comodo crap, virtual disk, file formats, services (again scrambled perms), delete
And now I know why so many people "like" comdodo's crap ware...
... it's because they don't have the skill set to remove it, and so being stuck in place they just pretend it's fine.
It's like removing blood from carpet. (Remember: lay plastic before taking the shot).
What a huge POS; never again! Even if asked by nice people giving me money I'll say no (in official speak "out of scope.").
