It's not off to a good start, and I agree on the Klingon reboot. They'd have been better off introducing a different adversary species, (or asking Larry Niven if they could re-introduce the Kzinti they used in the old animated series!)
I've been watching the old Legends of the Galactic Heroes series- even though it's late 80's animation, the writing is top-notch, and inspired by history (reminiscent of H B Piper, Anderson, or Pournelle). A reboot of that is due next year.

Watched about 10 mins. of Orville, seemed to me like a soap.

Didn't get a chance to watch it last night; my wife has a meeting to tonight I do not need to attend. I will try to watch it and then make a determination.
If it is better than Star Trek: Voyager, then that is a start.

I refused to watch it. AFAIK, all future episodes will be on-line only from the CBS site and I am not going to sign up for that just to watch this show so I'll pass.
