For those that don't know, some versions of W10 (my "Pro" version for one) allows you to defer updates for a few weeks, which is (obviously) a good idea to enable if you can, as hopefully any necessary fixes can be applied to the updates before they are installed on your machine.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago, problem was the NVIDIA video driver that had failed to install. At the next reboot, I could see the start menu, but it was unaware of mouse clicks.
A successfull installation/update of the video driver solved the issue.
How comforting it is to know all strategies that MS deploys to keep us aware that there was a problem somewhere!

They hired (3000 * seconds to handle image) cheap Chinese workers to handle the images manually? Poke tongue | ;-P

I bought a lot of it over again on CD and backed that up to MP3 - so my MP3 collection is now some 130GB and 32K tracks...
But Vinyl had that "real" sound, and I do miss that sometimes.

I am trying the new Master of Orion game.
And I find it much less appealing that the original Master of Orion II
Part of it, certainly, is the novelty / learning curve....

However.. sometimes novelty is a welcome change in a stalling game...
No, in this case I thing they made things harder...

I might be over criticizing but it's very clear on the planetary building screen
In the original Master of Orion II you had you queue in the middle and all items on the right, everything at a glance.
In the new one, to build a new item you click on a button, which show a popup hiding the previous screen, choose some items, then close it.
if you made a mistake, you must close the window, remove the item from the queue, open the dialog again, yadaa yadaa.... such a convoluted workflow...

And these people (hopefully? obviously?) played MoO2, why unstreamlined what was an easy option?

And while it doesn't seem like much I think it turns what was a deceptively simple game into a real complicated one... Cry | :((

As for the title, when I saw that, in a knee-jerk reaction I though "bloody designer" (as in a designer did the game specification and the well meaning and intelligent and actively testing developer must follow them despite that he obviously realize its foolishness!) but after calming down I think it might be more an effect of design by committee... Unsure | :~
