I was well into my twenties before I realised that my father's often used insult of 'Grade A Prat' wasn't 'Grey Day Prat'. Made far more sense then.

Parcel shelf, the shelf above the boot (trunk) space in a hatchback (?) car.
Usually hinged at the top of the back seats and attached to the rear window by string so when you open the hatch it opens up too.
Except I don't think I have ever owned a car that had all of the fixings for it in complete working order.

I had a parcel shelf in my first car a Vauxhall Cavalier 2 door salon and that was not a hatchback (the Audi was the same) - I remember cutting massive holes in it for the "new" speakers

Interesting that the article comes originally from someone using "spit and Image" rather than "spitting Image" - when the former predates the latter so, in fact, spitting image is the Eggcorn

I bought their Josha Tree album for $1.00 US at a place called BuyBacks.
Brand new for $1.00 US. Well, it's obvious they are disliked. I mean, $1.00?
Well, I listened to it and it is quite poetic and some decent music and I listened to it quite a few times.
I'm just so all confused about "with or without you..."
I don't know. But it is a decent album. That one guy, maybe thte guitar player...he doesn't have a name? they just call him The Edge?
Edge of what? Must be the pretentiousness.
