Best advice of all. William Shatner should cheer up anyone and make you forget all about bad splash screens. Next Generation is good too.

I think you misinterpreted the message.

Your first mistake is not understanding what's going on...
That's NOT a splash screen. It's an installation screen.
Two very different things.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

Okay, now it all makes sense.
Is it a mistake to not understand what's going on? Or is it a failure? I believe it is most probably a failure, because a mistake sounds more like something that could've possibly been causes by someone else. I think in this case I'm more of a failure, because I should've looked up the type of screen I was actually dealing with before I could really understand whether or not 1 hour was really a long time. A mistake would've been something more like tripping over my power cord -- by accident -- and having the whole system shut down. I'm going to have to dock you on points for not being more specific.
You've most certainly failed the class now.

I don't want to know what is doing. All I care about is the time left to finish install. I have seen installers showing that they are deploying SomeRandomName.dll. I frankly have no clue what that means and thus I do not really care much.

That's actualy what I meant, but since we have the power of the Internet, I knew I could just quickly spew my rant and someone, somewhere in the Universe would finally say what I meant.
That really is what I meant. Just let me know when you're done. will it be 5 hours? Ok. Then I'll go watch William Shatner and some Star Trek.
Thanks,

They said we "can", not we "have", put a person on Mars. However, they also didn't mention being able to bring them back!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

It's a foregone conclusion, which is all we really need any more.
So it's happened in the future-past. Get with the times, man.

I have just discovered that Spotify has almost the complete collection of Midnight Oil. I am like a pig in poo this weekend. A couple of bottles of red, the Oils, and Visual Studio. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
What's on your neighbour-friendly audio output devices this weekend?

aparently so....I heard them in fits down the corrider, then when one of them came in for a brew and the others turned up, that 1st video went on, and then it just sort of went downhill from there.
There have been many renditions of the goat in the first video all afternoon as people have been in other meetings and down the phone to each other.

Seems like a big mixup, but I like it. It's all the same style (sort of), yet everyone has their very own way to play and sing, a rare thing these days.
