If we could construct a thin globe around our (inner) solar system, I'd hate it. I'm too claustrophobic for that.

Would never happen; the sphere would need to be fixed to it's central star, or gravity would soon pull on one side. It's a rediculous proposition, as is the idea that any advanced civilization would need that amount of energy.

Not even close to true. A civilization who could construct such a feature could very easily avoid that. Solar wind is always pushing outwards. So the entire sphere could be made of vents that can open/close to modify where pressure is pointing, and the structure could stay in place. It would be powered by solar energy. Yes, I know one won't ever be constructed. But there are no laws of physics being broken.

...decided to make MSDN downloads unresumable? If a 4GB download takes all day I'm fine with that, but does it have to start from the beginning if the connection so much as hiccups? Jeez!
And where's their download manager gone? The help claims it allows resume but it never appears anymore.

What is it you're trying to download? I often find the same things on other sections of the MS site which are much faster, then I can use my MSDN serial key

Tell me which file and I'll try to make a torrent.
Unless you just want to rant, of course.
