Sixty-odd years ago there was a craze for stilts. We all made them from odd pieces of wood and broom handles. Not sure if what we did could be termed 'dancing', but it was fun at the time.

I'm fairly certain that it's not a requirement for joining any European Royal family; is this really true of The House of Internet?

Perhaps in these times, when old autocratic institutions must wear a facade of egalitarianism, they are called "influencers" ?

Thanks, Gary, for making me aware of this interesting pejorative appellation.Quote: Asshead has been with us as an insult since at least 1541, when English cleric Thomas Becon lamented how “little pleasure have these asse heades in hearing the glorious & blessed word of god.” Asshat, in contrast, dates only to the earliest days of the 21st century. The OED identifies the Jan. 4, 2002, Usenet post “You’re an asshat too” as the word’s first known inscription in written English, making the newsgroup rec.sport.paintball sort of like asshat’s own Chauvet Cave. >[^].
The chthonic underbelly of linguistics, that exists in a dynamic, polarized, tension with the valorized ideal, always interests me !
cheers, Bill

I prefer "recto-cranial invert" for "a**hole"/"a**hat". Not only does it sound almost medical, but it leads to a natural name for the condition - "recto-cranial inversion". It also pluralizes and allows for a prefix describing the severity and/or origin.

Best of all - I've found no swear word filter that doesn't let it through. :evil grin:

If it were not for the fame and the glory, we all would lead a meaningless life in Vain. Can anybody show me on the map where Vain actually is, so that I don't ever end up there?
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

I think it should be ACRONYMS, but I can't justify the "M". If you add a point - "N" - to CRAYONS you get "ACRONYNS" but I'm not sure that's a word ...

OMG! Again!
But here is the trick.. I work with the same people, doing the same work, having same pay.
But now I am directly employed by EA. (i.e. Electronic Arts) instead of going though an agency. And I have leave and sick days on top (so, really, a little bit of money increase )
Yea!
Gone is my work with EA. Long live my new work with EA!
And you better pay me some micro transactions prompto!
(just kidding, I mean surprise mechanics!)
