At the work Christmas Party and am just buying my 3rd beer. I'm here for the free food and piss.
The owner better get here soon or I'll be a one man mutiny.

You know, when all is said and done. When you've done all the politicking at the office, when you've failed to achieve that promotion or when your friend says something hurtful about you or any of a hundred other things get you down; well, at that time, it does you good to see that you live somewhere truly amazing and beautiful[^]. Enjoy.

Yes, it's a wonderful, wonderful world.

Being Canadian, it is clearly in my veins. I watch every single match of my beloved home team (Montreal) and I play at least once a week.
How many of you out there like it as much (or not as much)? Any software dev who's also a hockey fan?

One of the guys I work with plays hockey regularly, and I believe he watches the pros quite a bit.

Where is he from? Is he a coder?

He's a programmer, originally from New York I believe.

Ha nice. The Rangers are 2nd out of the 30 teams in the NHL that have the most money with a valuation of 850M$. I don't know how it compares to other sports teams, though.

I believe you are referring to ice hockey here. For me, never seen it and probably never will.

Luckily enough, I don't play pro so there's a mandatory mouth piece and full-face mask rule that helps me keep all 32 of them at the right place!

I heard if you buy a hockey ticket in Phoenix, they give you a meal combo, some Coyotes props and a key to the city. All that for 19 dollars.
|
|
|
|
|
Maybe, but still not worth it.
We do go to some Diamondbacks games with the meal combo though ($17?).

Of course, they're mostly all Canadians.

One of my colleagues is a national referree for "women teams". Others play regularly.. I can't because of a broken knee (birth problem). I like watching it sometimes, prefer soccer (football) so..

I am from good old Switzerland (southern part, Italian speaking).. It's a tipicall mountain area, so hockey is quite popular here..

Over here the scale goes from England to Finland.
It's fun watching live, not very fun on the telly and I basically never get to watch it live due to the exorbitant prices on tickets.

I don't know how much it costs back where you are, but here the average price for a game ticket is around 75$. The games are always sold-out. ALWAYS.
