So these would all work within the site, thus all being javascript ? That sounds awesome, I'd be up for that.
HTML encoding is already built in, isn't it ?

I am actually playing around with several jQuery plugins for small things, like automatically populating and refreshing dropdowns for country/province per example, but isn't that what tips/tricks are already here?

The difference here being these tools would work directly on the CP page for that article.
No need for somebody to host a demo on some other server and link to it from his/her article.
That's why Chris mentioned the peer review thing. These articles will have to be closely monitored
lest somebody try to misuse this feature.
Cheers!

In that case some sample JSON datasets, provided by CodeProject will probably be very helpful, some "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer " of data

Sounds like a great idea I'm all for it.
What is allowed or not has to be carefully considered as to not reduce the available functionality to much.
What about having a mandatory section sitting on top of the article, that has to fully disclose what is stored where and all paths my data and/or personal information may take. That's just my first thought on it there may be others coming up with something better.

I'm guessing you're thinking javascript but yes, I'd be interested.

I already told you about my dream of automatically generating the Table of Contents for an article, didn't I?

That sounds great - However, I want one with JavaScript which can be used directly in the Article Editor.

Definitely, I'm interested in something like this being established. I cart my little code segments from one job to the next as I'm sure my fellow developers do. It would be fantastic to compare how I'm approaching a common problem with other solutions. And yes, before you ask - on occasion, I live on this site.

This sort of raises two things
First is just a set of tools to use (as I was suggesting) that are more about "where can I find a tool to quickly do X'.
The second is about "where can I stash my code snippets". This is a slightly different exercise - but definitely something that is also easy to add if there's demand.

Ah - fair enough. I'm voting for the first thing. With regard to "stashing code snippets", not so much. I was thinking of something more collaborative. Upon review, this site already does this, I think.

Seems like GitHub is more set up for collaborative snippets, but I don't use that hippie crap.

I think a link to a set of existing online tools vetted by the CP community would be more helpful. There are several top-notch free online tools available and it would be nice to have a central CP link through which to access them.

I think this would be nice, but there are already this kind of lists (from respectable developers) somewhere else.

I am thinking of doing a HTML5 canvas tool for drawing simple diagram for article. The arrow tool in Paint and Paint.Net does not have the type of arrow I want to draw.
