I've been here from the beginning, just found that I registered as martm prior to the database crash and the forced reregistrations.
Also ran into Maunder back at CodeGuru which was before CodeProject existed.
I created the use of Elephant here on the site and from there popularised the use of Sunshine.

Enough votes saying the post was offencive and your account is locked out. Someone with the right powers comes along and unlocks it. Then more whiners vote it offensive and around in circles we go.
I mean, all I was doing was describe the love between a consenting Elephant and Maria Sharapova and everyone gets all girly.

You did go into graphic detail on the grunting. That's bound to affect sensitive souls...

I removed the MSVC12 Python builds I had (they didn't work correctly for some reason), and I tried building Python 3.4.1 with MSVC11 earlier today, and I have the builds working, other than the 'pythonw' executable, which exits with error code 9009 (DNS_ERROR_RCODE_NOTAUTH, according to msdn[^] )
I have successfully installed a module that includes C extensions (Markupsafe).
I am going to continue toying around with this, and I think I am going to start a project on SourceForge to distribute these builds. I will post a link here when I get it online.
I will try Python 2.7.8 tomorrow.

Meh. Put it on GitHub. While I loathe git, I do find GitHub to be easy to use and, from my narrow perspective, the "in" thing, which is also pathetic because I don't like to do what the masses are doing. SourceForge seems sort of passe.

I am using the unmodified (other than project file upgrades) sources from Python.org, and don't have any real items to put into source control. If I get a complete build system set up I might put it on Github.

Disabled it globally! I had only disabled it for Pictures but after I got your answer I went in and turned it off globally. Don't think it will effect me but I know how to turn it back on if it does.

I'm not sure if I want to call this a rant or a joke.
I'm trying to get a simple database up and running on Sql Server. I DON'T CARE WHAT VERSION. I simply cannot find the management tools entry for "Create elephanting database". It appears that over the past year, I have installed items that conflict. Fine, I'll clean it up. This is what I find in my Uninstall list - no less than 20 items related to this product. Mind you, I don't remember installing ANY of them. And my gin intake is sadly way way down.

I feel your pain, I have just finished removing all the SQL bits from my machine with the view to installing 2014, took hours. Then I ran a registry cleaner as the last time (2012) I installed SQL it bitched about express version, from VS being installed. Bloody nightmare.
Oh I got the registry cleaner from free tools recommended by Bill Woodruff, cleaned 7k+ invalid entries from the registry and I didn't even need the restore point .
Todays exercise, install SQL 2014, I am not optimistic!
