What I find troubling is that your wife would rather you not go, then put her mother in check.
I lived through the whole MIL hell, already; it almost ruined my marriage. Luckily in the end, my wife chose me over her mother. Does yours?
Anyhow, I hope you make it through the day and have as good a time as possible with your family. Merry Christmas.

lol... point taken. As in all things, we add up the plusses and minuses. The kids seem to enjoy it, so I try not to be an arse about the situation. I just ran out of rum so had to suffer more than usual.
As far as the wife choosing me, we're over it. She knows I consider her parents just about certifiable bat-crap crazy, and it's not up for discussion. When wife asks what to do, I tell her to hang up. Any more engagement from me, and I reach for a drink.
Full disclaimer - my MIL is a lot like me, opinionated and hard headed. So, I just avoid conversations and things stay quiet.

Ummm, continues? I am so sick of other peoples' dogs pissing on my stuff. That includes my children and wife. First time, get your f'ing animal out of my house. If they had a clue, they would be mortified.

I would not want family or "friends" at my house for Christmas, if I had to confront them about their f***ing dog pissing on my furniture. That would infuriate me.
Anyhow, happy holiday to you.

Today was my last day at work.
I'm officially employed until the 31st, but I took a few days off
Had a christmas/goodbye lunch at my old job and a christmas dinner at my new job yesterday.
Starting my new job at januari 2nd. Very much looking forward to it!
But between now and then I need to celebrate christmas (which shouldn't be a problem!), move to my new house (almost everything is done, it's getting a bit empty here...) and celebrate new year (not sure how that will go, I don't have plans yet).
For now I wish you all a merry christmas!

Merry Christmas to you, and a very good luck for your new job and congratulations for a new house.
Hopefully, you'll be able to get your mind off of the programming things during the vacations to enjoy them and try not to implement the Lazy interface that you're implementing right now (in your signature).

When you are that when you are good natured to and wish everyone Season's Greetings that we have four seasons every year - a cosmic hint that the idea of "good will" wasn't meant to be a sometimes thing.
What's a smile worth these days?
Even while the rest of the world around you doesn't seem to share the idea with you, take the aforementioned, your own personal bubble of heaven with you, wherever you go.

.. and what that personal bubble of heaven would be?
A bunch of friends, girl-friend? In that case, I would like to leave this bubble to gain some peace of mind atleast so that I can not just shout at others in anxiety. Peace of mind matters sir, peace of mind matters!

Then you just found your personal bubble of heaven I understand that it is whatever makes you smile. Not what you have to do to look happy, but what just makes you happy.
Cheers!

That is what it takes to smile! A smile, that is eternal and never ending. A fake smile can never be eternal, but painfull.
