I know someone who owns a sports bar with 20 TV's. He wants me to build a tablet app that can control all the TV's.. Seems like the device would need to transmit and be able to pair with the TV.
Anyone know of any way to do this?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

Are the TVs all the same manufacturer, make and model?
Are they SmartTVs?
Are they all connected to the LAN per WiFi or cable?
For most SmartTVs there are already apps out there to control them.
Sniffing the packets transmitted over the network with WireShark may shed some light on how the protocol works, but I'd try to get information from the manufacturer beforehand. My experience is that you'll have to pair the device with your TV(s) so that would have to be done too.
Cheers!

IMHO you should start with a simple Google search and read a few of the articles to start with...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

if budget allows I would rather go for some "control server" where the app connects too.

Don't they already have universal remotes for that? I think they do.

Here is the situation. I have some nice icons for various audio files that look a hell of a lot better than the stupid orange-striped traffic cone for VideoLan, which have 4 sizes associated with them when opening them in Greenfish Icon Editor. It used to be that in these particular views, the 16x16 icon would be displayed, which is what I want, as the the larger icons aren't so good when small, even though they are great when large. However, now the 32x32 icon is displayed, which I don't want.
I think I know why this is happening - I recently set the Control Panel Display - Screen Resolution to 125%. (I would go back and reset it just to prove that I'm right, but I don't feel like going through a pair of reboots.) Short of updating each of the icon files so that the 16x16 icon is blown up by x 2 (which would be a bit of a pain in the a33), I can't figure how to do this.
Thanks

You can get assistance with this by:
1. reading the pinned message at the top of the Lounge: "Posting rules for The Lounge [modified] Pin"
2. deleting this inappropriate question
3. reposting your question on one of the QA forums here with:
a. imore details about the context in which you have this problem: what type of Application ? WinForms ? Web ? WPF ? Android ?

This is not a programming question! There have been more prominent members of CP "abusing" the Lounge before without being chastisized. So get off of his back, will ya!

Well, Manfred, given the often satirical/mocking responses to questions like this on the Lounge, I thought I was doing the OP a favor by suggesting they repost on QA.
But, if I did a dis-service to the OP, I apologize.
And, yes, of course you are right about the fact that some folks can post certain types of content on the Lounge and get serious responses/discussions, whereas others posting the same types of content can get dumped on.
I am not sure if it's a sign of wisdom or just a fungus-of-blase-indifference to the inherent injustice of social groups [1] growing on my aging soul that this doesn't bother me

I wouldn't mind reposting somewhere else, but I don't see a forum for general "how to use a computer" questions.
