Nope, just a simple mod ten counting. After number nine is over they reset to zero.

You mean like Doctor Who[^]? Asking the time lords to help and get an entire new set of regenerations?
But who would the cats ask?

- The COVID Modelling software - gave a different result every time it was run. It'll be fine!
- The Track & Trace App. Yep, no prob, will have that done by tea-time.
- Exam Results 'Algorithm'. Of course we can accurately predict the GCSE & A-Level results for every student. Did you say 'anagram'?

When will Software Developers realize the data being supplied by the Government can't be trusted?

I think that applies to everyone, not just SWDs.

Relevant video. The whole video is interesting imo but when I read your comment I was like "I know I've seen an example of exactly this recently..."

..doesn't say much about being trustworthy. Lots of "devs" entering the field after a "reeducation" which took mere weeks. If you pay for that, you get what you deserve.

The trouble is politicians only understand politics, so they rely on advice from experts.
Minister: We need a world beating track & trace system.
Consultant: It will cost, but we can have it ready in a couple of weeks.
Minister (at press conference): We are creating a world beating track and trace system. First test will be on the Isle of Wight, starting a fortnight on Monday.

Looks like Microsoft has provided another saucer full of secrets. Ummgumma take note of your experience, and plan accordingly. Probably take a walk in Grantchester Meadows while the the update runs, then head down to the cave to groove with some small furry animals.

I am curious how many readers got the reference in the subject line.

It must be at least ten years since last time I listened to it. I'll dig it up right now!

1966. As for the reference, I only expected about 1 of 10 to get it. Somehow I thought of Ax when the update seemed stuck. To be fair, the earlier Floyd was a little too weird for me...prefer Gilmour's vocals.
