I agree, I dislike having things moving on the screen unless I told them to.

Does anyone use the feature in the Visual Studio code editor to add a second horizontal or a second vertical group of documents?
I think they implemented that feature the wrong way. Instead of halving the edit area in order to add a second group, I think they should have made it so that there is just an additional row of tabs. In other words, keep the editor area the same size, but just add another row of tabs on the top. I think that would have been a better way to implement it.
Anyone agree? Or do you like it the way it is?

You can put the tabs on the side and group them by project. There are a bunch of options at

Thanks, haven't used that feature yet but tabs would make it easier to manage.
I'm not sure how many cookies it makes to be happy, but so far it's not 27.

Thanks, Dennis. I will take a look at those options.

I use that feature often, and I have no problem with the way it's implemented.
Only thing I could wish for is an easier way to open the same document in two different tabs.

I use it quite often, to compare code, copy from one to another, etc.

I don't mean to downplay its usefulness. It's useful the way it is. I guess I just wish it were a little different.

Well... the Dutch have perfect 'Nederwiet' (Dutch weed) and politicians allow So we don't plant, we smoke!
